“Nice place & nice breakfast”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

We spend a night there when taking our child to camp. We had a basic room with parking-lot view as we only needed a clean place for a night. It was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was nice. The indoor pool and sauna were also pleasant. I liked the on-line reservation system which seems to be almost impossible to find for lodging in Old Forge, NY. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: We paid the inexpensive rate as parking-lot view was fine for us. The rooms with views seem very ni...

We drove up to Old Forge intending to only stay for the day, but decided to spend a night the Water's Edge Inn on a whim. It was a weekday during the offseason (late May), so we were able to get a king suite for only $105. The hotel may be a little old (especially evident in the lower level/basement), but our room was updated and extremely comfortable. We loved the balcony overlooking the lake, and the location is hard to beat. It's within walking distance of all of Old Forge, and the hiking trails in the Eagle Bay/Inlet area were only a 10-15 drive away. The continental breakfast was very good, and the sitting room in the lobby was very charming. Overall, we had a great stay.

Room Tip: Get a room with a lake view on the lobby level or higher.

My wife and I with our 4-year old daughter stayed here for 2 nights. If you are planning on going to Enchanted Forest/Water Safari, you can't beat the location (right across the street from the entrance). They also have a great deal with the Play N Stay package. Those are the biggest pros for the hotel, along with the free continental breakfast and the heated indoor pool. We experienced a few cons, though. The water temperature in the shower was horrible, especially in the morning. You would go from ice cold to very hot in a matter of seconds and then back again, without touching any controls. We ended up takiing baths instead of showers because of this. When we arrived, the phone didn't work, but the lady at the front desk came right down and fixed it, which was good. The next day, my wife called the front desk to ask a question, and the lady there was extremely rude with her (must have been a different lady!). The TV was very snowy; we could barely make out the picture at times.
Overall, if you can put up with a few issues and want to go the attractions across the road, you can do a lot worse.

We have been staying here for years. We do the Play N Stay package where the price includes hotel, includes a wonderful continental breakfast and 2 tickets to Water Safari. The hotel is very clean, the breakfast is fantastic and serve coffee all day. They also have a clean indoor pool if it rains, plus the hotel is right across the street from Water Safari and we don't have to worry about parking. We can walk every where from our hotel. Its the only place we love to stay

Room Tip: We have tried different rooms, and they all are nice. Check out the pictures

The room was clean, bathroom small but clean. Receptionist was a typical folk for this town. Outside our room were lots of cig butts that people had thrown over the balcony.

They claim they have high-speed WiFi. What a joke! You can only get connection in the main lobby area. 10 ft from that one area and you are out of luck no matter what type of device you want to connect with. The attitude about it sucks as well.

Lack of plugs, a closet you cannot reach without crawling over a bed, the rooms SMELL! Strong mildew smell to them.

Room Tip: Don't choose this hotel would be your best bet.

This hotel is nice. The room was clean, the views are good, and the price reasonable. It is located near the center of town and convenient to the wayer park acceoss the street. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
