I have an image of a fire station as being very much clean and in order - really a picture of maintenance and tidiness. That is why I booked a night here on a fall-leaf outing. The building is close to the lake and we thought we would enjoy the views. However, the place looked more like a gas station or body shop than a tidy fire station. The building was quite dilapidated, and the room kind of reminded me of my image of a homeless shelter - clean but grim.
We couldn't get any cell phone reception nearby and the only people around seemed to be fishermen drinking beer on peoples' front lawns, so our trip to Olcott was cut short prematurely!
