“Relaxing Adirondack Retreat - Great for family reunions”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

Lapland Lake Resort is an old fashioned, relaxing summer retreat where we have come the last two years for small family reunions. The cabins are cute and comfortable and the lake is clean, fresh and completely unspoiled and private. Recommend bringing or renting bikes to ride from the cabins to the lake. We also enjoyed the sauna and the evening campfire. There is also a cute new ice cream shop in town that is worth an afternoon trip. My kids (3 & 5) look forward to going there all year. Ann and Olavi go out of their way to make for a fun visit. We will be coming back next year for another family reunion!

Lapland lakes is a gorgeous setting. We were the only guests in May & Ann made us so welcome, lighting the sauna each night for us, a fab way to ease the aching muscles. The Tupa was really well equipped everything you could need, including lots of fuel for the fire. Comfy beds and a hot shower. The lake is beautiful and kayaks are there for use. Lots of hiking trails both around the ski routes and nearby. Highly recommended for a getaway.

I'm all about Trip Advisor research and the first thing that attracted me to Lapland was their superb rating. The name of the place kind of struck a chord and so I checked it out. We ended up having an amazing experience at Lapland, a really beautiful 2-day escape from the heat and noise and the daily routine. We stayed in the Lapin Tupa, which is big and very comfortable and has all the utensils and tools needed to be self sufficient. The place is indeed pretty close to immaculate, however my only very minor comment is that the downstairs bathroom fixtures could use a thorough going over. The forest setting is absolutely stunning and the silence of the wilderness is divine. The beach is small and very charming and the use of the boats is a huge plus. There's a really good selection of row boats, paddle boats, canoes and kayaks. The kayaks in particular are excellent. Major highlight was kayaking around the entire perimeter of the lake. Also hiking out to the lake at night - not for everybody but it's a stunning experience. Great time was had by all, and we'll definitely return at some point. Thanks so much Ann and Olavi have created an amazing place and really cultivate a welcoming and warm culture!

This is a one of a kind family get away -- quiet wooded cabins near a quiet and gorgeous lake. We took our young kids here and they loved the beach at the lake. We took them biking and hiking in the woods, kayaking, and swimming. The owners have established a very warm and family environment that are rare these days in a vacation spot. We plan to make this a regular family vacation spot.

Lapland is beautiful! Everyone was delightful and perfect hosts. We stayed in the Ruska Tupa and it was clean and comfortable. We were in need of nothing, as the cottage was well equipted. My family's favorite part of the trip was canoeing on the scenic lake thanks to the owners including the use of thier many boats in our stay. The sauna was a great way to experience a Finnish tradition. My family of 5 had a perfect vacation at Lapland where there is something fun to do for all!

What a fun place. My wife is half Finnish and was really looking forward to spending 3 days at Lapland. We arrived friday afternoon and was warmly welcomed by Ann, an owner. We stayed in Pojan Tupa, a two bed room tupa. It was what we expected a woodsy cabin. My wife took the sauna on both sat and sun, going from sauna to the cold water brook back to sauna. That was her favorite part of the weekend. Woods lake was small, big enough for a hour long kayak trip around. The views of the mountain from the far end are the best. The beach area was nice and the swimming area had a sandy bottom.
The trails were an ok hike, not much to see from the trails.
Best part of the weekend for me ,you can not not get cell phone reception, and no TV and you have to go to the finnish line to get wifi. You can actually have conversation when your not distract by our modern toys.
Over all we really liked Lapland and will be going back. its not for everybody. but its for us.

We had a lovely time in Poro (one of the smaller cottages at Lapland Lake) celebrating my Mom's birthday. The cottage was small but immaculate. We had lots of firewood (delivered daily) for the wood stove. When we weren't using the stove, we turned on the electric heat. Cosy and delightful. Beds had good mattresses. We had ski lessons with Jan who made us feel very comfortable with cross country skiing. Then we skiied to the Lake, across the lake and did another couple trails. A great weekend. Lack of cell phone coverage was a blessing as my teenagers had to talk to us!

Room Tip: Website has great photos of each cottage.
