“Phenomenal! Perfect for our weddingmoon!”
Reviewed July 6, 2009

If you enjoy a wonderful breakfast brought to your own personal balcony overlooking the un-obstructed view of the ocean and the wonderful personal attention, you will LOVE this hotel. Heidi recommended a wonderful boat tour where we choose to say our wedding vows to each other. Every moment on the island was perfect, thanks to the service and fantastic accommodations here. You can't go wrong! Call them directly to get the best price.

Being our first visit to Greece and Santorini, I had researched quite abit on the internet for hotels to stay. The argument seems to be - to stay in Oia or in Fira? My answer to this dilemma is to simply stay in both, and decide for myself.

In my honest opinion, for first or even second timers, Fira is a better place to stay cos there are simply more restaurants, shops, museums, bus connections to the rest of the island, cable car rides to/up the port down below, and the superb Nea Kameni volcanic island view (which is even better than Oia's Thirasia island view!)

But Oia is definitely more romantic, more beautiful, and almost certainly, more expensive. We had stayed one night at the famed Perivolas (see my other review) and would return to it anytime. However, we did not regret staying two nights in Fira cos it is where the action is - important for first time visitors like us who would like to get a better idea of what the island has to offer.

Heidi, the daytime manager of this brand new suite hotel was most kind to us. A porter cum breakfast cook (sorry, didn't get his name?) had been waiting for our Perivolas car at the Fira Cathedral upon our arrival. He helped to carry our two small cabin bags and we walked a short while to the green doors of the Adamis Majesty suites. And its down 51 flat, and even steps with handle (yes, I counted a few times) to our suite level.

This brand new hotel has only 6 suites, on two levels. Suites 101 to 104 are lower, on the second level below street level while the suites 105, 106 and the reception room are higher, on the first level below street level. Heidi was very kind to allow us to pick one of the available Honeymoon suites, room 103. It was the largest suite in the Hotel and boy, it was certainly beautifully decorated, and huge, too, easily accommodating up to 4 persons! But its jacuzzi and toilet wasn't as large and nicely decorated as our suite 104's, so we opted for the second largest suite, 104, in the end.

As someone had mentioned earlier, the suites all have so much space and so much art (counted 5 oil paintings and 5 art objects) to admire at, it doesn't feel like a hotel or a B & B to us, it feels more like a home, an apartment of sorts. Everything was provided for in these suites - flat screen colour TV with 12 channels (with BBC, too!), free mineral water and White wine upon arrival, bed and pillows were very very comfy indeed, medium sized fridge, huge jacuzzi (see pictures to believe!), huge toilet area, safe, telephone, strong and new air conditioning, hair dryer, quality and new furnitures etc.

The huge terrace in front of the suites (shared between 4 different suites) has the most amazing, unblocked views of the Caldera, with the Nea Kameni (beautiful great shape compared to Oia's Thirasia) right in the centre! Everyday, we would be back to the suites at 6pm, ready in time for the direct sunset views at 6.35pm (in October) - its magical! And the best part is, within a minutes climb up on the easy to walk stairs, you are on the street level where you can find shops, cafes, minimarts, confectionery shops, restaurants - the list goes on.

With a Classico Cafe on the street level of the Hotel, the suites were surprisingly very quiet to sleep in ... we could hear only very soft sentimental music from the cafe if we were on the outside terrace, and its totally quiet when we were in our suite - simply wonderful for us to rest and relax, to recover from our jet lags. Breakfast was served daily on our terrace, at 8am sharp, with a wide variety of food to eat, can never finish what's on offer really ...

And now the small negatives of this otherwise wonderful Hotel - there was no hot plate for some small cooking, no CD player, no kettle to boil water to make some tea and coffee. Neither was there an outdoor pool nor jacuzzi to talk about. However, Heidi has told us that she has plans to have a small spa of sorts in the near future and am looking forward to providing a kettle and a CD player soon?

All in all, we thought we had really enjoyed a good stay (what's more, at an affordable superb value!) at this brand new hotel after thronging the websites of the top 3 purportedly most popular Fira hotels - my advice is, look carefully at those posted travellers' pictures and see for yourself, and make comparisons. In my honest opinion, the Adamis Majesty Suites would in no time, climb to the top 5 position in Fira. Hopefully, like us, you would make the right choice in choosing this wonderful Hotel for your great stay in Santorini.

Enjoy ....

We had four excellent days and nights at Adamis Majesty Suites so we actually asked Heidi, the lovely manager of Adamis, if we gould stay for ever...

The suite was so exquisite that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel and get part of the rest of charming Santorini. Beautiful furniture, excellent and huge bathroom, a bed big for a king and his country...

The location of the hotel is perfect and sunset views from the suites patio are unforgettable!

Staff were very friendly and helpful and maid the visit one the best retreats we ever had.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
In a few words.ADAMIS MAJESTY is a unique sample of aristocratic architecture, respecting, though, rigorously, the neoclassic specification of Santorini’s Old Mansions, with their domes, their arches and the picturesque windows, from which one can admire the blue sky binding with the endless blue of the ocean, whereas during the nightfall, the sea is painted “in blood” as the sun bends into its arms for inevitably loosing itself into the ocean. Nowaydays, the owners of ADAMIS MAJESTY have successfully reconstructed the mansion, with respect to its historicity, while simultaneously maintaining the local architecture, and have created 6 suites, which give a new essence to the meaning of qualitative luxury. Each suite has its own special style of comfort and luxury, with a distinguished presentation of the bathroom, where the shaping of the area, along with its decoration and its unique Jacuzzi, provide an exceptional experience of relaxation and calmness, but also an atmosphere of mystery and romance. ... more   less
