Sometimes a 'summer holiday' is about sightseeing or about visiting people or places, at other times, the summer holiday is about switching off, relaxing and floating downstream.
At Aria Lito in Fira, we found the perfect haven for a relaxing week of sun bathing, chilling, reading and generally switching off for a week.

The staff are extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel is immaculate. It is clean, fresh and well appointed. The rooms are spacious, clean and come with a range of facilities, such as free wifi, a fridge and (most importantly) air conditioning! The busy, yet charming, streets of Fira are only a few footsteps away, and yet the hotel grounds are a tranquil oasis of calm.

It is possible to visit other parts of the island. Boat trips, walks and sightseeing at Akrotiri are all possible with Aria Lito as your base, however, for us, this holiday was about doing very little.

Each day started when we had our lovely breakfast (fresh fruit, juice, selection of breads, tea or coffee) served in the dappled light of the garden. An ideal start to the day. We then spent the day lounging on the terrace, dipping in the pool and reading novels in the sun. We also headed off in to the old town of Fira to browse round the shops and buy souvenirs and bits and bobs to bring home. The town is well adapted to cater for hungry holiday makers and the centre of Fira offers a range of restaurants and bars to cater for all tastes and wallets.

In the evenings we sat on the terrace with cocktails and drinks. A blissful end to each day.

I would not hesitate to recommend Aria Lito for a stay in Santorini.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms come with their own personal courtyard.

After travelling around Europe for 8 weeks Santorini was our final stop and after staying in Aria Lito what a great decision that was.

After arriving earlier than expected the stafg helped grab our bags and brought drinks/food for us to eat as our room was being prepared. As we laid by the pool we were informed both couples were able to be upgraded to superior rooms free of charge.

The staff were very friendly, the hotel in the heart of 'Thira' and made our final stay as relaxing/beautiful as we hoped. We will be back in the near future!

My new husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Aria Lito and found it to be a lovely hotel. From the minute we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff who took our cases from us and showed us into reception where while we signed in we were given a welcome glass of Greek wine. We were then upgraded and shown to our lovely high ceiling room near to the pool and with a little table and chairs outside our door.
We were given a quick tour around and we could have breakfast either outside by our room or in the breakfast garden .
We found all the staff to be very helpful and extremely friendly especially Eleni on reception. She was a lovely young girl and made us very welcome.
The only thing that didn't work in our room was the jacuzzi bath but to be honest we always have showers anyway but just though we would try it out. It was great having the mini bar and the hair dryer in the room.
All in all we would definitely recommend the hotel if staying in Fira as looking at what else was on offer in the local vicinity we both felt we had dropped lucky. Also we were right in the heart of all the little shops and bars and not far from the bus station which meant you could travel around the island easily and cheaply.
Lovely sunsets and a great breakfast every morning!!!!!!
Only drawback to Fira is it's very very congested and busy with cruise ship visitors. We went end of May but can't imagine how busy it must be in July and August!!!!

Room Tip: The hotel is a former family mansion so there is only about 12 rooms. All were large with high ceili...

we stayed here in July for two weeks and are about to book again for next year. An unbelievably quiet hotel in the middle of a busy town. Everything within walking distance.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a complimentary bottle of wine for Nick's birthday and Ioanna organised a beautiful bouquet of roses for me on our wedding anniversary. We highly recommend you stay here! Nick and Kate.

The Aria Lito exceeded all our expectations! We had a fantastic room on the terrace near the pool in this beautiful hotel. Nice size pool for a refreshing dip.
The hotel was minutes from all the shops, restaurants and 10-15 minute walk from the bus station.
Generous breakfast in lovely shady garden. The staff were very helpful with advice on places to visit (Akrotiri and Oia) and we felt really well looked after. The 2 ladies at the front desk were especially good with our 3 year old and her balloons.
Don't miss the beautiful sunrise!
We were all sorry to leave, but hope to return soon.

I always do a lot of research before choosing where to stay for my well earned holidays. This hotel is one of the most delightful places to stay as it had an ambience the like of which we have never experienced before. We know Greece well and love its simplicity and friendliness, but this stay surpassed expectations. True, there were some very LOUD Australians staying for a wedding at the mansion, but they made for very entertaining company and did not detract from our enjoyment of the holiday. We went with friends who were just as pleased with the hotel. It is small, compact, but with a lovely peaceful aura, which is surprising as it is slap bang in the middle of Fira's fabulous cobbled streets literally a stone's throw away. You approach the hotel through a car park, but having been warned, it made no difference as once you were in the gardens, you could have been anywhere on earth. The view of the caldera just moments away cannot be described - the eyes cannot take it all in it is simply stunning! From the attentive staff at the hotel to the experience we had at Mama's House (it was hilarious at breakfast - she told us to eat up quickly and we couldn't leave until it was all gone! A real character and great food!) the whole holiday was fabulous. Loved the donkey ride back up from the harbour, I've never laughed so much as they raced up the steps, and the boat trip around the bay. I could go one for ever but if you are visiting Santorini and want calm, sophisticated surroundings with unobtrusive staff attending to your every wish, then head for the Aria Lito Mansion. we had a room under the terrace which was great for sunbathing until 3.30 and only a short walk to the small pool which was in the shaded gardens, really needed as it was 35 degrees the week we were there. Breakfast in the gated garden was fabulous.

Room Tip: Go for one with a terrace
