“Excellent Location ! Brillient View !!! Great Service!!!”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

We have just returned from an amazing holiday from Greece. The Thireas was selected primarily based on the reviews from other travelers on Trip advisor. Needless to say we were not disappointed .The Hotel (if you can call it one) is actually a small guesthouse with only 7 rooms, no working hotel kitchen (they still manage to put together a fantastic breakfast), and no lobby or grand reception. Yet it provides such a warmth such as the feeling of visiting a close relatives home .The hotel though small gives the feeling of a big space due to the various terraces at different levels .The view is spectacular at any given point. We went to Oia for the famous sunset however our Hotel had as good a view as any. We were two families with teenage children. The staff is so courteous and efficient that it amazed us. It seemed 2 people were managing the entire property by themselves.Yiannis was involved right from serving us breakfast, doing up the rooms, managing the reception, providing us a map , marking places to visit and last but not the least seeing off the guests (lifting and dropping all the luggage to the car). He was just smiles ,hospitable and courteous during the entire process.

Another great advantage of the Hotel is the excellent location. It is ideally located just minutes away from the main market where the super markets such as Carrefour are located. It is a walking distance from all the popular night clubs, and restaurants within Fira. The bus terminus is a 5 minutes walk away.
Instead of hiring a car or taxi we travelled across in the local buses as the cost is mere 1.6 euro per person and takes you comfortably from one end of the island to the other. We travelled in the bus to all the beach areas as well as the famous Oia. The travel time is mostly 20 to 30 minutes one way across the island.

Room Tip: Our room (or suite if u may call it) had no view as was located in the lower end of the hotel. Howev...

Loved it,recommend to all looking for an experience of staying in a boutique hotel .Its a home away from home feel.Yiannis is a wonderful host.He helped us through out and seemed was managing the hotel single handed .The walk to and fro to the hotel is not difficult unless you have a physical problem. The Restaurant just above the hotel Nicolaus served excellent greek food.

Outstanding view which we enjoyed from our private balcony - the perfect place to watch the magnificent sunset. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean - only downside the small bathroom in need of a bit of an update. The manager, Onnanis, could not have been more helpful - suggesting trips and restaurants and finding out information for us. Our plane did not leave until the evening and we were given the use of our room all day at no extra charge - however the hotel was not busy so this may not always be the case. The hotel car at 20€ was an expensive way to get to and from the airport but worth it to have our bags carried up and down the many steps! Only drawback was the noise several times extending into the early morning but this is a problem with the bustling town of Fira - not the hotel.

The best part of this hotel is the view. Can't stress how gorgeous. Having breakfast overlooking the caldara was spectacular. The staff was also very helpful, providing us with very nice suggestions on places to visit around the island. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. little hard to find initially but otherwise I can't think of a downside.

It requires a bit of walking down the Caldera to get to the hotel. The hotel itself is clean, pleasant and homely. Rooms have basic amenities such as shower gel and shampoo, but no shower cap, ear buds, etc. The beds are not too comfortable, however, I ended up with a bad back.

The view is gorgeous and since the hotel is tucked away further from the restaurants above, you can enjoy the night scene from afar.

There is no room service nor coffee/tea making facilities. However, the cute and kind manager provided us with a kettle upon request. Thank you Markos.

Brilliant location. You can take the local bus for 1.60 euros from airport to Fira centre. The hotel is a short (albeit convoluted) walk from there. I had the manager collect me from the bus stop so he could guide me to where we were. I had a gorgeous room with all the necessities, and a balcony with view of the sunset and the open sea, and the village of Fira. It's a short stroll from all the shops and restaurant. Simply stunning!! They do not have a gym or a pool, but there is a jacuzzi! The terrace is very cute.

Keep in mind in the winter months most hotels and restaurants in the area are closed.

I went on a trip to Greece and Turkey with 2 other girlfriends, and Santorini was definitely one of our favorite places we visited. Hotel Thireas helped make it a great 4 days. The view itself is amazing. No matter what time of day sitting outside just felt relaxing, whether it was to eat breakfast on the patio or to sit outside at night to catch up on mail you can't help but enjoy the scenery. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had the room with one queen size bed and one full-size futon. I liked that the bathroom had the shower separated from the toilet/sink area. The breakfast was delicious and we always left feeling very full. Dimitris and Linda took very great care of the guests - they are so sweet and accommodating. They gave great suggestions for places to eat, beaches to visit, the best place to buy x or do y. I know they're probably nice to everyone, but during our stay I was pretty sure they liked us the most. I would 100% recommend this hotel.
