My wife and I recently spent 4 nights in Santorini. I did a lot of research before hand as I really wanted to stay right on the Caldera cliffs and I knew quite a few talk about it however people are disappointed when they get there. Well we were not disappointed at all! Porto Fira Suites are as they say they are, right on the cliff. When you arrive at the top yes there are a lot of stairs to come down to get to the Suites and then your room, however the walk is well worth it! Niko was waiting at the top to carry our bags down and did a great job. We wee greeted by Betty the manager, who was a real credit to the establishment. She could not do more for us and was such a lovely lady!
We were upgraded to a bigger suite and had an unbroken view from our bedroom, lounge and verandah, it was outstanding! Each morning Niko brought down our pre-selected breakfast to our verandah where we started the day in peace, it was lovely. Our room was great, a real genuine experience of a cave suite. We had a week earlier been in a flash 5 star hotel in another city for a few days and rated this higher for the experience.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a great Santorini stay with incredible views. I would caution if someone struggled climbing stairs this area and probably quite a few of the cliff hotels maybe not the right choice for you.

I really like this hotel, it has a good view to see the sea, and the breakfast is pretty good, you could fill out a list which provide different food, it tastes good. I recommend this hotel, it is a good choice.

Stayed for a few days here and we were practically alone - it was off season.

Reaching the hotel is tough with bags (they do have a porter - I'm sure its tough for him too). If you are older or have weak knees that do not allow you climbing stairs, do not go for this hotel.

The rooms were smallish, but nicely appointed. Decks allowed a wonderful view of the Caldera Cliffs of Fira, the cable car and the old port. Breakfast trays were brought to your room each day and it was good.

Off-season, the reception is open only for 4 odd hours of the day! You can reach the caretaker on phone who, I suspect, will turn up if you need.

Fira town square, the bus and taxi stand are quite close by, once you haul yourself up the slope which gives enough options for the vacationer.

The "best" restaurant in Fira lies at the head of the steps to the hotel, and was open though it was off-season, so we faced no major problems with food.

Room Tip: The view, the view, the view. (All rooms have one, I think)

Always wanted to see Santorini and this was the last stop in a month in Greece with a group of friends. Thought Santorini would be over hyped but it was amazing and exceeded expectations and Porto Fira Suites the perfect place to stay. Rooms set into the cliff are very modern, clean with wonderful views. We were there in October so Fira not crowded but weather was stunning. We walked the town and visited the bars and restaurants and then back to the privacy of our room to rest, relax and gaze over the calderra. A swim in the pool and a hot shower then off to find a different bar to watch the sunset. The staff were great and breakfast delivered to your patio in the morning a real treat. Catch the bus to Akrotiri to see the archaeological site, walk the stairs to the old port or just chill out on your own patio in the Porto Fira Suites. A great way to finish a great holiday.

Room Tip: The lower numbered rooms have less steps and because of the design of the cliff side suites there ar...

This place was really pleasant, we were looking for a place with a great view for the sunset, a comfortable location and friendly staff. We got it all in one at Porto. The place and the food was great, we had a really nice time chatting with the staff and we eventually met the owner, who was also really nice. She gave us 4 coasters as a small souvenir that we are using and reminds me of our experience every time. We really enjoyed our experience, we found that the price was better the rest at Fira and the food was also very decently priced compared to some who were really expensive. Would we stay here again, in a heart beat.

Room Tip: any room is a good room, they have amazing views.

The location and view were outstanding; we rented a petit suite cave room for 5 nights which was small but ok for 2 people. The balcony and outdoor area and view was fantastic could not have been better. Very firm large bed on rock pedestal very comfortable. A great breakfast brought to your room/patio each morning. Amazing hotel employee who carried our 2 suiltcases down all the stairs to our room and bck up to the street when we departed (please tip him well for the hard work) We had an early morning flight out and the hotel arrange for a very early breakfast and porter service for our suitcases. My only complaint was no coffee maker in the room, there is a hot pot though for boiling water so we bought coffee, milk, and snacks at the nearby Carrefour Supermarket a short walk away. BTW Nauossa Restaurant at the top of the stairs/ top of the hill is very good.

First of all, Santorini is stunningly beautiful. Pictures can never do justice to the view of the sea and the sunsets! Porto Fira Suites was a delightful traditional cliff side hotel, which allowed you privacy, clean, well maintained hotel experience with a amazing view at all times of the day.
They deliver breakfast every morning to your terrace and that is your wake up call. We forgot to order on the second day, and they just repeated the order from the previous day! Great start to your day with fresh fruit, yogurt and traditional staples like eggs and breads and cereal.
The location is exactly what you would want when in Santorini, on the cliffs, with narrow cobblestone walkways and whitewashed walls. A different door to the sea at ever turn on the pedestrian only streets. Well pedestrians and donkeys only streets!
Beware, there are a lot of stairs but do not let that stop you. It is amazing to discover the city walking around, and after eating on this island, who couldn't use a little workout to make up for your over indulgence of food while here.
We stayed for 5 nights and loved ever one of them.
The rooms were cleaned every day, and your terrace was washed down ever day.
We stayed in room #21, which had a sitting area inside and a large jacuzzi tub with shower. Lots of hot water!!!
Small pull out couch and a LCD television.
The porter was a champ, he brought our luggage down from top of cliff to our room and that is no easy feat. Make sure to tip this man! You do not want to do that job at all!
The pool is a nice area, however being we were here in mid October the water was not warm enough to swim in.
Explore this island at your own pace, do yourself a favor and get a scooter and see what the island has to offer! They are affordable at €20 per day with insurance and is the best way to take your time and enjoy the island.
Porto Fira Suites is a short walk of 5-15 minutes to many local restaurants in Fira town and there are a few bars that are open later for music and drinks!
Now, the only negative we have for this hotel, and specifically room 21.... The bed was horrible. It was as hard as the rock walls that surrounded it. We had long days of exploring the island and on our feet walking hills and cliffs and came back to bruise our hips from sleeping on our sides. Love the hotel, love the staff, love the island, would have loved a comfortable bed. Great stay, if there was a pillow top mattress, we would have rated 5stars!!!! Fantastic honeymoon in a amazing place.
