“The perfect start to our honeymoon!”
Reviewed May 17, 2009

This little gem of a hotel is well located away from the hustle and bustle of the main city centre. It may look far but once you are there you will appreciate being away from the boat load of travelers.

From the moment you enter you are greeted with a friendly smile from your host and Sush the dog together with a nice cool drink.
We had room No.5 located on the lower level with a private terrace. Once inside you get a real sense of history with the architecture added to with subtle modern inclusions.

The bed was comfortable but a second pillow could have helped. The mattress could have been a bit more comfortable but in hindsight, I think my body was adjusting to all the steps around Santorini!

There was a TV with cable channels, fridge and your own cooking facilities if required.

The wonderful view from our terrace was magical. We watched the sunset one evening and the view back to the top of Santorini is mesmorising.

The price was very reasonable when you take into account your in Europe but expensive when you convert to $AUD. Once you take a look at other hotels you will appreciate what you have and the reason we are so glowing of this hotel.

The only complaint that we could make would be the lack of hot water available for a shower. But we figured out that one should shower before breakfast and the other after solved that problem. Speaking of breakfast, this would have to be memorable highlight of our stay. The menu is a la carte but unlike other hotels, they were happy to provide additional food if I was still hungry. You cannot go past the yogurt with fruit and honey, it still leaves me salivating for more!

We both felt very safe and the gate was always open til late.

On our final evening Mr Regis was there with his assistant who had waited for us to return and he took our bag up to the top of the stairs and left for home. He made it seem very easy!

Some Tips:
- Santorini can get very busy and I think we timed our trip perfectly. Arriving before the boat load of travelers arrive. Best before 10 May
- Best Gyros was located in the square just around the corner from the supermarket
- Best to travel around the island by either quad bike or bus.
- Take the time to go to the Ammoudi. There are a few restuarants down there which have the view and food to match.
- Best Restuarant is the one that featured in the movie Sisterhood of the traveling pants. Sorry I cant remember the name!
- Make sure you go to OIA for the sunset and dont waste your time going to Parissa. I cannot understand why people suggest going here, but you will need to figure this one out for yourself.
- Talk to the locals.
Hope this helps make Santorini as enjoyable for you as it did us.

Following the reviews on here, we booked six days at this hotel in early October 2008 and loved it. Everything went smoothly and the owner said from the outset that he wanted us to have a great time. And so we did.

Friendly staff, nice dog, great breakfasts, stunning views and a quirky room layout made it all wonderful. Great location too.

We chose the Cori Rigas after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and comparing rates. My husband and I decided to splurge on the Superior Suite as it looked so big on their website.

Unfortunely, we didn't let them know when we were arriving or someone would have met us at the top of the hill to carry our bags. This was a mistake because its quite a ways down stairs. However, once we arrived, our bags were carried down to our room and we were shown around. The living room was huge, with high ceilings, marble floors, gorgeous light and great artwork. In addition, it had a good sized separate bedroom with a second double bed in a loft. The apartment also had a small kitchen and a nice bathroom too. We had 2 windows that overlooked a roof that always had kittens running round and amazing views. We absolutely loved it!

The balcony outside was shared and had a breathtaking view as well. The dog Sue and the kittens were never intrusive, but were always willing to keep us company when called upon when were out on the balcony. Note: The balcony has a tarp covering part of it to keep the sun from burning down, which was a great asset.

The breakfast was huge and absolutely delicious! We always sat out on a balcony for the view of the caldera as we ate. It was simply stunning.

Mr. Rigas and his staff were a pleasure and gave great advice about what to see, how to get around and restaurant information.

We highly recommend it to anyone.

From the moment my best friends and I arrived at Cori Rigas we knew we had made the right decision. We considered larger more elaborate hotels but decided on the Cori Rigas based on other reviews and the value. We were four single girls traveling together and selected a two bedroom apartment. It was absolutely adorable and the view from our terrace was breathtaking. When we arrived Mr. Rigas greeted us with complimentary welcome drinks and shared his knowledge of Santorini with us and made numerous recommendations as far as things to do, restaurants, bars, etc on the island. He is a lovely man and he and his staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We also fell in love with his dog, Sue, who escorted us into town in the evenings and hung out in our room quite a bit only because we encouraged her to as we were all missing our pets back home. The bathrooms were not large but we liked them because they were literally in "caves"! The rooms were kept immaculately clean and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious, especially the chocolate crepes! Thanks to Mr. Rigas, Sassa, and Sue for making our stay a pleasurable one!

We stayed 4 nights.
The first we were shocked by the long down stairs to the entrance of the hotel since we got off taxi.
We arrived at the hotel 8:00 a.m.
However, the owner accepted us willingly, then he gave us hot coffee. It was glad!!
The hotel has very convenient locaation for saightseeing in santorini. to bus terminal 5minute, enywhere for sightseeing about 30 minute by bus. And the position of the hotel is quiet. Because a car can't entry for narrow stairs.
Naturally, We enjoyed breathtaking view, great sunset .
Especially we pleassed about walking around in Fira with Shoe. Shoe is owners dog. It' s very cute and when we had breakfast ,a woman of the staff always has a warm smile on her face.
The hotel accepted our demand request.
Last day our fight was 18:00p.m.
When we came back from a walk at thehotel after checkout , the owner gave us coffee and some cakes again, then he arranged a porter to carry our suitcase to us.
thaks owner and staff for your hospitality.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Apartment in mid October and probably it was towards the end of the tourist season, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to their only suite (Apartment 1). The suite itself was superb, exactly as seen in photos and there are 2 double bed in the room big enough to accommodate of family of 4. There was this fantastic view of the caldera from our terrace. We had breakfast at the upper terrace whilst enjoying the wonderful surrouding which I could only described as "Heaven on Earth"!! Breakfast was cooked to order and the quality was substantial. The only downside of our stay was the lady who cooked our breakfast for the 2 mornings was very impatient with us (there were 6 of us in 3 rooms). I take it that was nothing personal except she had a bad day. The owner Mr. Rigas was very friendly and helpful and I have reflected this to him before we left.
