What an excellent tour. One of the major highlights of our visit to Santorini (the other was the catamaran boat trip with Santorini Sailing – see our review). Dimitris is a great guide, very knowledgeable and leads all of the tours himself. The tour is small – our group was only 7 people (max is 8) and so you get plenty of individual attention when you want to ask questions. The minibus is small enough to get to the less well-visited wineries. The tour lasted about 4 hours and we visited three wineries. Our favourite was the winery at Gaia, it’s in a simply beautiful location and the little snacks that we had with the wine tastings really set off the wines beautifully. We didn’t appreciate that he does other tours as well and, if they’re as good as the wine one, we missed out.

Our Santorini wine tour was amazing...totally worth the money. The tour itself lasted approximately 4 hours and we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. The three winerys gave us a nice broad overview of winemaking on the island. I really enjoyed the differences we saw between the most famous, the oldest, and what I refer to as the most picturesque winery. I am really glad we spent the extra money on this tour. Our tour guide (Dimitris) was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and actually had a four year degree in viticulture! It was also very nice to have such a small tour group. It allowed everyone to see and hear very easily and ask our questions as needed. Our tour guide even took time to take group photos at every location. I would highly recommend this tour!!

We were fortunate that we were the only two who booked the wine tour that day so we had the undivided attention of Dimitri for the duration of the wine tour. He was extremely knowledgeable not only in terms of wine but in the history of Santorini. Although neither of us were complete novices when it comes to wine tasting and drinking we both learned a lot. We visited 3 Wineries starting with Boutari one of the larger wine producers not only in Santorini. We then went to a much smaller local winery which was fascinating with great history. We ended up in a winery that had previously been used for producing tomatoes and as a night club. Needless to say we ended up buying many bottles to bring home and we will savour especially the 3 bottles of Vino Santo the speciality dessert wine of Santorini. All in all it was a memorable tour well worth the cost and taking the time out.

We had three days in Santorini and spent part of one on a FABULOUS wine tour with Dimitris! We ended up having a private tour since we came during the off season (highly recommended). We took a tour of the ancient ruins in Santorini (also with a wonderful guide) and then headed to three very different wineries. Great wines and LOTS of delicious along the way! Dimitris couldn't have been more helpful and wonderful to be around. Don't miss this tour!

We traveled to Santorini on our honeymoon and were anxious to try the local wine. Dimitris made the day really fun he created a truly memorable day! We visited a great selection of wineries and learned a lot about what makes wine in Santorini unique. This is a must-do if you are visiting. We loved it and it remains the highlight of our trip!
