This tour came recommended, and we are glad we had the oppertunity to make a booking very last minute. The tour was both fun and educational, and also an excellent way to experience the island. There were just 4 of us on the tour, so that was very nice. We were picked up from the ship by Dimitris (sp?). We visited three different wineries on the island. Dimitris was very professional and courteous, my husband is a veteran amputee and although he can walk without assistence, he is not as fast as most people, this was not an issue at all, Dimitry took every bit of time to help my husband into and out of the mini van, and made sure the other couple on the tour knew beforehand that the tour would be at a slightly slower pace. Dimitris took his time explaining the history and the importence of wine in Greece, but mainly the Santorini wine region. It is very facinating to see 3 different wineries that are completely different from each other, and have changed very little over the centuries. Growing grapes on these islands is very facinating and not an easy task. We are far from being wine connoisseurs, and in all honesty we had never even heard of Greek wine, luckily for us this has now changed. We enjoyed numerous wines both red and white on this tour that came served with some equaly delicious cheeses, breads and olive oils. There was absolutely no pressure to buy, but we did end up buying 4 bottles of wine, 2 red and 2 white for just 12 Euro a bottle we also bought some cheese and olives.
Everyone we met on this tour was very friendly and they all made it an unforgettable experience.
Thank you Dimitris for your patience and showing us your island, we will definitely be recommending your tour.
