it has the findings from Acrotiri beautifully displayed. This is a small museum and easy to read. See it before visiting the site.

We took the minibus up and walked down. Great views across Kamari and Perissa.
Couple who ran the tour out of Kamari were very helpful and informative.

This little museum is just off the main square in Fira. It contacts artifacts from the excavation at Akrotiri, plus a model of the excavation site. The museum is air conditioned (nice after a day in the Santorini sun) and can be seen in about an hour. Some of the pieces are very old (e.g. leaves solidified in stone are apparently among the oldest ever found). The photographs posted on TripAdvisor by previous visitors are quite good representations of what you'll see inside the museum.

Really enjoyed this site--wish we had been on a guided tour to get more out of it. The city itself is just amazing, but there really isn't much documentation if you want to learn more about what you are looking at.

Although it's rather small, but it has a good collection of Cycladic art and culture that legitimately belongs in a place. The explanations were nice and detailed too.
