A credit to the greek archaeological group who made this possible. Let's be honest , the Greeks can do things in a half measured fashion, but this site is amazing! The design ,the walkways, and the ambience once you are in it are incredible.

This small Museum is worth visiting especially if you have visited the site in Akrotiri because it competes your visit. It is in the center of Fira and houses a rich collection of artifacts and frescoes which were removed from Akrotiri while the most impressive ones are displayed in the National Museum of Athens. What made it very interesting for us was our tour guide Dimitra who had given us the guided tour in Akrotiri and gave us also a highly interesting tour in the museum.

This site is well laid out and presented. It provides a glimpse into the past and also helps visitors understand the process of archaeology. After touring the site, it's worth taking a short walk to the beach as you wait for your return bus.

A truly excellent, modern, and well-organized museum. Wonderful exhbits were well selected to give a representive view of life on Thira in the Bronze Age. Standout pieces were the bird-necked vases and an exquisite offertory table decorated with dolphins and other marine life. Fresco fragments were beautiful too, and the information about fresco painting was spot-on. The whole collection was put in context by the geological and volcanic background information. Overall, all the interpretive labelling was very informative and not at all dumbed down (as it can be in some UK museums).
