Every summer during August, for the last 10 years, I visit Aigialos hotel. It is the time for my holidays and I insist visiting Santorini at this hotel because it offers a very good stay(excellent service), at Caldera in front of the Volcano (excellent view). Mr. Jean-Pierre the hotel Manager always cheerful and disposal to the clients is professinal and thus efficient in leading the hotel. He became my friend with his wife who is an artist and her artistic sensitivity is obvious in the hotel. The stuff is well-trained, polite and professional. The chef Ms Alexandra creates unique tastes for breakfast, lunch or dinner and so presents one more time the unique hospitality of the hotel. The rooms are clean with wonderful antiques, paintings and gravures. I would highly recommend Aigialos to anyone and especially for honeymoon.

I love this hotel so much. The view from the balcony was amazing! Especially, the sunset moved us so much. The staffs were so kind and friendly. We had dinner and breakfast at the valcony. The food was also so delicious. We had really good time there.
If I visit Santorini next time, I would like to stay at this hotel again!

Just finished a breathtaking week in Santorini, staying at Aigialos. Staff are fantastic and chef Alexandra is the best keep secret on Santorini. We first had a room called Skiron A - right on the little pathway and whilst it had disadvantages (such as anyone walking by could just about hear you breathing), the views and the fact that there were no stairs plus the large room compensated. We (unfortunately) moved to accommodate incoming guests, to a room called Zefyros. Views were also fabulous - BUT the bathroom was ridiculous. I have never seen such a small bathroom - with only a hand-held showerhead - in any hotel of this supposed level. By all means stay at Aigialos - BUT avoid ZEFYROS! (I also note that this room is not mentioned on their website!)

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. John Pierre the manager and the staff could not have been more obliging. He picked us up from the airport and immediately made us feel at home offering a fantastic table for 2 overlooking the sunset. It was very silent and very romantic. A really unique experience. The food is very good and the location is ideal unless you really want to be right in the heart of the nightlife. And if you want that you are better off in Mykonos anyway as the party scene is far wilder there. It's a small family run affair. The room are quaint and authentic. The pool is a little small compared to some of the other hotels but again Santorini is less about beach and sunbathing and more about exploring this wonderful island. Enjoy.

A fantastic hotel with a great staff and excellent hospitality. Overlooking the caldera, in the most conveniently situated area of Fira and yet in such calm surroundings. Immaculately clean, great and original decoration, highly personalized service (Jean Pierre and his staff are excellent). The chef is truly talented, and we enjoyed several gourmet meals in our terrace – actually we probably had the best dinners of our stay in the island! I visited it with my spouse and we are so charmed by its unique ambience and the outstanding service that we will definitely return.

Aigialos Hotel is located on the Southern part of Fira (the city center of Santorini) within a 5-10 minutes walk. If you are the type of person who prefer a more relaxing holiday from the crowdedness of tourists, this is the place to stay. Whereas if you are looking for a house surrounded by the typical white houses on all sides .... this is not the place to stay.
My family and I have had a 3-day-stay in this hotel last week and found that the service of the staff is so good that we are overwhelmed by their hospitality.
We traveled from Athens by airplane and the driver picked us up with a smile. When we arrived the manager Jean Pierre and his staff greeted us with a walm welcome and gave us lots of information for how to spend the 3 days.
Tips:
1) if possible, spend at least 2.5 days here - don't rush
2) plan your days here early: especially about traveling to Oia - the best place in the northern most corner to watch the sunset - try not to drive yourself but get a taxi there before 4pm (booking one is very difficult - you should wait at the taxi stands within 5 minutes walk from the hotel) and return by bus or taxi just before total sunset .....when hundred of people are leaving
3) try to have dinner at the hotel - the food and service is more than excellent. You may get the food-quality somewhere else in Santorini but I am sure you cannot get the food+hospitality elsewhere with such a reasonable price
4) You should try a boat tour to the volcano center at Nea Kameni but bring a retractable walking stick with you AND don't wear sandals - it is too slippery.
AIGALOS HOTEL is best for people 35+ in age who value quality and quietness. But if you are under 35 and understand that your objectives in visiting Santorini are rest, restoration and relationship-building - this hotel will be a life-time experience for you too.

The spot provides a magnificent view of the Caldera. The services provided by the stuff are immaculate and are combined with great hospitality and a friendly and properly supervised personnel. The rooms although traditional are very comfortable and extremely clean. I was impressed by the fact that our room was cleaned and checked twice a day and our sheets and towels changed every day. The dining option by Chef Alexandra is extremely good and provides a variety of Mediterranean dishes
(fantastic risotto, great stuffed mushrooms, superb crème brule). Although we had plans for dining outside the hotel, half our nights we stayed in the hotel and enjoyed a superb diner in our balcony along with the magnificent view of the caldera.
