We stayed at Aigialos in the Voreas house for one night in July, and wished we could have stayed for longer. The view from our balcony was stunning, the house itself was beautifully furnished in a traditional fashion, with two bedrooms, two (small) bathrooms, a kitchenette and a living area. We had our dinner and breakfast served on the verandah and couldn't have spent a more perfect last night in Greece. We overlooked the oldest church in Santorini and the house itself was part of the monastery, so if you are interested in the historical and cultural aspects of the island, this is a perfect place to really experience the atmosphere. The staff and service were excellent.

The only negative - a small point which didn't really detract from the experience - is that the walking track runs past the bedroom windows. Fortunately, being at the far end of Fira, it is not too busy, but we were woken a couple of times by some noisy groups.

Room Tip: The Voreas house is lovely with a perfect view of the old church and the caldera.

We stayed in 4 nights in Levantes which has a covered balcony and 2 lovely bedrooms. Yes there is an abandoned quarry to the south but the views are breathing and sunset is better than many of the restaurants in town. We liked that it was near the southern end of Fira so not a lot of people walking past or crowds of cruise ship day trippers. The food is amazing. Breakfasts are wonderful and we had the restaurant to ourselves one night. Vivi and her staff make this 4 star into a 5 star experience.

Aigialos was stunning! Some initial booking issues we had were dealt with brilliantly by Vivi and her staff, and we then proceeded to have a lovely week on Santorini. The service at the hotel was exemplary with a lovely relaxed & boutique feel where you could choose to be as sociable or private as you want. The rooms were large, clean, and tastefully done (albeit a bit worn), with all amenities you would expect. The hotel menu, although not expansive, was excellent with food cooked fresh to order mixing modern and traditional Greek food with the best local ingredients. The views from the hotel were great – added to by the donkeys wandering past the hotel twice a day on their way to and from work – with many rooms seeing the famous nightly sunset. The location was also perfect being just far enough away from the cable car and donkey track so as to avoid the huge influx of cruise ship tourists everyday, but only being a 5 minute walk into the centre of Fira with all the shops, bars & restaurants. It’s by no means a cheap option for staying in Fira, but not a Euro spent in vain from our perspective. The only thing the hotel might like to consider is getting some parasols on the room balconies, and maybe a DVD library (to complement the book one in reception) for those couple of hours a day it was just too hot to be in the sun! Thank you Aigialos for a wonderful week!

Room Tip: Well worthwhile paying a bit more for a higher tier room.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was exactly what we wanted in a trip to the Greek Isles! We stayed in the standard room and really enjoyed it. This room did not have a modern feel to it, but really made us feel like we were staying at a true Greek hotel! Our room was located right next to the walking path and each morning the donkeys would walk by and it was quite the site to witness. The staff here at the hotel were amazing. From the time we were picked up at the hotel, to the time we checked out they went above and beyond for us and always had a smile on there face. They helped us with excursions, restaurant recommendations and anything else we needed. We ate breakfast each morning by the pool and it was very good. As for the location of the hotel, it was perfect for us. We had a very quick walk to (less than 5 minutes) Fira where all the restaurants, shops, bars, are located. This was the IDEAL location I feel. As for the views from the hotel, I don't even know where to begin. All the pictures you see on TV and in the magazines are just as they are here at the hotel. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have an enjoyable experience while in Santorini. This is a great hotel for couples, families, friends, etc! Job well done folks!

This was our first visit to Greece and the Aegean. We stayed at Aigialos for 4 nights and wish we had stayed longer. Everyone at Aigialos did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. I can't imagine any view on all of Santorini that could be better than that experienced from the terrace adjacent to room Sorokos. Additionally, the restaurant and service were first-rate. Hopefully, the very professional and personable Nikos will be available to serve your dinner. As for staying in Oia, as recommended in so many guidebooks, maybe it's just me but I didn't much like the place: a little too "precious" for my taste. Fira was "real" and perfect in spite of the crowds from cruise ships; and it provided the best location for day trips in any direction. Thanks Vivi Tsota and staff for all your hospitality!

Room Tip: I'm at a loss here since the rooms, naturally, are all different. We just tried to choose a roo...

Vivi and staff had excellent service. Fira is a great location to stay at. The rooms were nice but this was not a 5 star hotel. Shower & restrooms need a renovation. Rooms are pretty small and not renovated. They had great recommendations like the Argo restaurant.

Room Tip: Some rooms like Apiliotis have caldera views but not a sunset view

In June we visited Santorini for the first time, and it was one of the most enjoyable trips in my life. In some way it is due to Aigialos hotel. We are very thankful to it's friendly and caring staff, who did their best to make us feel just like at home. If one day we come back to Santorini, I will not hesitate which hotel to choose, and I highly recommend Aigialos to everyone who wants not only to visit this bautiful island, but also to feel it.
