“A slice of paradise in paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

Had the pleasure of staying at the El Greco, Fira Santorini in June 2013. This hotel is very modern in a large setting easy walking distance to Fira township, we had a lovley room near the edge of the middle pool, the room was of a good size, clean and tidy and well laid out. The area of the hotel is quite large so it is a good idea to get the porter to assist in finding your room, the room WiFi was not working but it was in reception. The staff were very helpfull and friendly in true Greek tradition, the pool bar was a great place for a coffee or beer in the afternoon. There is a bit of a scrap for loungers around the pools in the mornings so if you want one get up early. Breakfast was quite adequate, all in all a great stay in a fantastic place in a Med paradise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from a pool for maximum quiet

The hotel pretends to be more than it is. This said, I would confess that it is a good hotel but coming from a perfect one in Mykonos, I was prompt to find some faults.
No shuttle from the port while many hotels were waitinf to their guests. The bus from the port to Fira's center is quite an adventure. From the bus station to the hotel there is no long distance but with the luggage every metre seems long distance.
Staff at the check in was friendly and helpful.
Rooms are rather dated and there is no afternoon tiding which was missed having been used to it in Greece.
The bathroom needs refurbishment.
Breakfast lacks quality. many things but presentation lacks elegance. Quality of food is not at the level of other greek hotels.
Swimming pool place: wonderful and very clean.

A quaint little hotel that seems to be a favorite for group travel and families.

Multiple swimming pools, standard fare in terms of the breakfast buffet, and clean spacious rooms.

Internet service in the rooms was a bit iffy at best and not available all the time, but for a workaholic, that was a blessing whilst on holiday.

Fantastic walking access to the heart of Fira.

We stayed here for a couple of night in June. The hotel has a great location, very close to Fira town and just across the road from some great views! The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very big, so taking your luggage back to reception and waiting for your transport might be some of a hassle. We were also not able to connect to the wifi in our room and had to sit in the reception area whenever we had to connect.
Other than that, the room was extremely beautiful, clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable (the only queen size bed during our holiday in Greece...all other hotels had two twin beds next to each other).
The breakfast was awesome! There were so many choices!
Thank you very much, we had a great stay at the hotel!

Enjoyed a week (our second time here) at this lovely hotel. We arranged for hotel to collect us from Fira airport (complimentary) which is only a 7 minutes journey. Driver prompt and courteous. Although we were not happy with room offered initially, we were shown 3 other rooms which we chose from.

Some of the newly built rooms are not as close to the pools as the older rooms are, but we were pleased with our eventual choice of older bright and spacious room. Plenty of clothes storage etc.

Rooms cleaned/tidied daily, lovely cleaning staff, worth their weight in gold. All areas are spotless and gardens full of colour. There were enough sun beds around the four great pools, each of which we enjoyed trying out.

Although hotel is off the main road, once we were in your room or by the pools, we were not aware of any traffic noise, poor bliss.

During both our stays here, we had B & B. The breakfast was adequate. We had heard that the evening meals were disappointing, however there are so many restaurants to choose from in the centre of Fira, just a 15 minute stroll away, it seemed a pity not to try some out.

Worth a visit is the fantastic outside cinema, and if your lucky to be there when there's a good film showing, it's a great night out.

Santorini is a fabulous island, we enjoyed a lovely stay at El Greco and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are bright and spacious, but if your not entirely satisfied, a polite request to s...

We stayed for 1 week mid June on bed and breakfast, upgraded room to superior suite prior to travel and requested upper floor caldera We got exactly what we asked for and were really pleased with our room (302), it had Caldera view one side and another sea view the other side and pool view from bedroom window. The room was spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day with fresh towels and linen every day too. All the staff that we met were very freindly and helpful and the location is perfect, 5-10 mins walk in to Thira itself and only a few minutes up the road to the carrfour supermarket, which was very reasobably priced. A tip for the ladies, forget heeled shoes and make sure you pack plenty of flat ones as the cobbled paths are very difficult to walk on. Bus station is just up the road, regular service and cheap to get anywhere on the island. We really enjoyed our stay at the El Greco and would ceratinly stay there again if going back to Santorini.

Room Tip: room 302 has double sea view but is one row back from main road so very quiet too.

This whole resort is beautiful. Even though they placed us at the furthest room possible from anything, the room was actually massive and awesome. We are on a Greece/Italy tour and this hotel (1 of 5) was the best. The breakfast is a huge selection and the general atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous.
Also, 5 minute walk to Fira and the shopping district. This resort is worth the stay.
