From the moment that you walk down those steps and look at the amazing view, it takes your breath away. It was enough distance away to avoid the crowded restaurants and shops, but a quick walk to where ever you needed to be. I wish I could remember the female's receptionist name, but she was very accommodating and knowledgeable. We booked a sunset catamaran cruise and it was the highlight of our trip with her assistance. Breakfast was very fresh and amazing as you watched the view of the cliffs and cruise ships docking... The rooms were very unique and authentic that you felt like you were "in" Greece. AC worked wonderfully as it was scorching outside. Only complaint was the plumbing but I think everywhere in Greece had drainage problems. Other than that, no complaints! Amazing view from the roof/balcony view!

We had an absolutely beautiful stay at the Lave suites! The location is just stunning, these suites are located slightly above the town so you can actually look down onto the cliff face at an unbelievable site everyday. About a 5 minute walk to the city centre. Staff are lovely, Stavroula and Christian were especially helpful, nothing ever too much for them - thank you!! The rooms are nice - clean, cute and spacious - although the bathroom is slightly on the smaller side. We were really happy, and this lovely accommodation helped us in creating an unforgettable Santorini getaway!

We stayed here for 3 nights in July. The hotel is located right on the Caldera, step out the front door and you are right on the path to Fira and Firostefani. Perfect location with a lovely little church outside. The service was excellent, breakfast was prepared and served on the 2nd floor deck overlooking the Caldera. The rooms are adorable, we had a Senior Suite which had a lounge room with 2 bedrooms both with a loft. There is also a small pool to cool off in after walking around town and a spa on the 2nd level deck.....The staff were wonderful, I cant go on enough about this place....loved it so much...Everyone walking past was taking photos of the Hotel..

Room tip: I am sure you will fall in love with any of the rooms here

Lava Suites has a wonderful staff, helpful, competent and friendly. They are top notch. The breakfast is also first rate composed of fresh fruit, cheeses, rolls and a daily rotating special dish all this plus creamy yogurt. The view while breakfasting al fresco is superb overlooking the clear blue sea of the famed caldera.
The rooms on the other hand are not so good. Ours was large but dimly lit with a bathroom smaller than a small closet having a single , dim light and zero space to put anything. Storage is poor, the "sofas" in the main room were two single beds placed in a corner and very uncomfortable to sit. Allegedly one could cook in the suite but it is minimally equipped and there is no information on where one might acquire supplies.
Once outside, the suite sitting area is delightful and the pool refreshing. Few rooms actually have any view and at least one suite looks directly across the path to the blank wall of a small chapel. Too bad the rooms are so poor. Everything else is superb.

Room tip: Ask specifically for a room actually overlooking the caldera not just peeking slightly.
