We drove past on the scenic route to Oia, looked quaint so we returned after a swim at the local beach, also highly recommended by the way. We had the Zucchini, Tomatoes balls and the Pork Souvalaki,... all great fare in a welcoming atmosphere, thank you Taverna Roza...

Pure Greek! If you want to try homemade traditional food in a little non touristic village, than you have to try Rozas tomato balls, rabbit stew and more!

“Typical Greek Taverna”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Located in the Village of Vourvoulos; it is a very typical place where you can find good food at very reasonable prices especially if you compare this Taverna with the ones in Thira or Oia!!

“We expected more”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We went to Taverna Roza after reading tripadvisor reviews and trying to escape from tourist traps. We read so good reviews than thought that this was the place to have a greek dinner. We ordered the tomato balls, a moussaka and red snapper. The tomato balls were ok as an appetizer. The moussaka taste was good, but it was not a moussaka. The size of the portion was minimal and it was almost only potato and bechamel, few meat and scarse eggplant. The fish was not red snapper, it was cod and the portion again was minimal with few leaves of kale and a garlic sauce in the side. We felt that it was overpriced. The amount of food that you get for what you pay is ridiculous. We paid 30 euros for this with a botle of water. Even, the bread that you pay too, was minimal. Not the best moussaka I tried, I will call it potato pie. We left the restaurant still hungry so we went to a gyro place to calm our hunger. We were not willing to pay double of what we paid to have dinner in a remote restaurant. Even though we have to say that the lady of tthe restaurant was nice, but not something that deserves the price.
