“Excellent Food”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

WE were in Santorini for a Day with our four Children. We travelled all around Crete, this was by far the best Restaurant we have been in our two weeks vacation. The host was wonderful, the food exquisite, the atmosphere was relaxing and the view was breath taking.

“Exceptional!”

On recommendation, we went to Volcano Blue - what a brilliant choice! The food across the board was delicious with large portions. What stood out was the fresh seafood and fish - without doubt the best on the island. Thank you for stunning food and great memories!

“We still talk about this dinner!”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

On our first night in Santorini, my boyfriend and I wandered Fira near our hotel (Keti - review to follow) taking in the breathtaking scenery. Having done some reading we each had a short list of restaurants worth checking out. We happened upon Volcano Blue, one I had marked for its reviews on ambiance, view and food. As we were checking out the menu, a man came from the doorway on his way out, saying he used to be one of the chefs there, and told us we'd be crazy if we didnt dine there, and have the spaghetti and mussels - best on the island according to him! We were sold! The man was correct! We definitely were the early birds (but a day of travel makes one tired and hungry, right?!) We were there around 5pm, and had our choice of seating. we chose a table on the lower level, under the awning looking out onto the water and the evening sun. can you say gorgeous and romantic? Began with a Yellow and a Red Donkey (from Santorini brewing - very excellent collaboration between a Greek, an Aussie and American if I remember correctly), and dolmades (grape leaves). I was in heaven, and I think my boyfriend enjoyed his introduction to grape leaves! The boy went with the recommendation and got the spaghetti and mussels - so dang delicious! As i couldnt decide, i went with a white fish in a dijion sauce served with rice. Both were great! (I want to say the starer was like 8 euros, and our meals were in the range of 15 -17 euro. so, not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive) Our waiter was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Ordered an ouzo a piece, sipping while enjoying the evening, then were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dessert. a small square of a cheesecake with i think a raspberry topping. Such a wonderful, delicious, relaxing meal!
