Owner description: The Cultural Centre “Megaro Gyzi” is housed in Megaro Gyzi, one of the few 17th century old family mansions. The Megaro Gyzi Museum is situated in the Halls of the Cultural Centre, where five Permanent Exhibitions are hosted: An exhibition of authentic engravings with maps, landscapes and dresses of the Cycladic islands from the 15th to 19th century. An exhibition of old manuscripts from late 16th to 19th century. A collection of paintings and photographs of Santorini. Open May through October.

you must see it , it's worth it you see paintings of Santorini I loved it!All history of Santorini is there and has great architecture!

If you ll go to Santorini dont miss to visit this museum. Is located in Fira and has many activities there such as paintings and festivals we see the paintings of Santorini from the past and has a great architecture!

we saw many interesting things there, like collection of paintings from santorini, some old historical manuscripts (very nice experience thought!!) and some very beutiful scenic photographs by pintos couple!! very good museum and maybe i will visit again someday with my kids!

While it's worth visiting this museum, because it provides an interesting background to the history of Santorini, don't expect to spend much time here because there are not many exhibits. (we spent about 45 minutes there).

This museum is around the corner from the Museum of Prehistoric Thera, so it's a no-brainer for those who like museums. The collection of documents goes back to the 1600's, so it's quite interesting.
