“Off the main Fira street(s) - what a treat to find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

A great meal we had here at Triana, Fira. The gentleman was such a nice guy, his recommendations of what to choose from the menu made our meal even more enjoyable (try the 'saganaki' there - fried hard cheese). Sat outside (top part of restaurant) and enjoyed a seaview with our meal. Will return for sure!

“Amazing Aries”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012

My Husband and I recently went for a vacay in this beautiful island. One thing we love the most is tasting all kinds of food, wine and knowing the people. We would like to extend our greatest respect to Mr. Aries (the owner of Triana, one of the kindest and funny person we've met and very accomodating). We had fun talking and joking with you and thank you for sharing a brief history of Santorini and for taking good care of us. Mr. Aries runs a family restaurant in the heart of Fira, sure there's a lot of choices to dine in but we keep on coming back to this place. We don't have any idea what does a Greek food taste like but he introduced it to us and it will blow your taste palette. We tried everything we can since were just staying for 2 nights. All of them taste amazing!!! Price range around 10 -15 euros and its all worth it since every portion is enough for 2 people. Try it you'll enjoy it too. Two thumbs up!

“Great time at Triana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2012

While waiting for the (seemingly never ending) line to board the cable car to shorten, we happened on this family run restaurant, for dinner. The patriarch took special care to help us have an authentic Greek meal. He was personable and engaging and wanted to ensure that our time there was enjoyable. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. We’d return to this slightly off the touristic beaten path in a moment!

“A little gem of a family run Greek taverna ..........”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2010

We chose this restaurant because it looked like a real Greek taverna and not one catering specifically for tourists. It is on the main Fira road, slightly away from the main tourist areas.

We sat upstairs in the shade and got stuck straight into a jug of local white wine served in small Duralex style glasses rather than normal wine glasses. We were liking it already!

We started with some shared dishes - fava beans with capers and onions and savoury rice stuffed local tomatoes and peppers and followed with freshly grilled lamb chops and a Greek salad. The portions are large but everything we ate was absolutely delicious! .....

... so delicious that we went back two days later for another lunch! This time we shared, dolmades, taramasalata, fava, Greek salad and lamb chops. We find the lamb chops in Santorini better than those back home - much more flavour and the dried herbs add a little something extra.

Our meal was even more enjoyable owing to the delightful stories and chat from the Greek owner.

This restaurant is planning to buck the trend this winter by staying open all year round. I wish Triana the best of luck!
