We came here on recommendation from our hotel so were expecting good things!!! The restaurant is in a great location with a lovely view over the caldera and the prices compared to all the other restaurants in this area are good, unfortunately that was reflected in the quality of food we were given. Also if you're there later in the evening when all the donkeys are coming up from the port it gets pretty smelly!!! Not the nicest when you're trying to enjoy your dinner.
Portion sizes were absolutely huge, I felt bad when our plates were cleared because I left half of my main behind. I got the vegetable risotto, was pretty boring and way too big. Starters were also huge. We weren't offered a dessert menu and to be honest I didn't really want to try anything.
The restaurant was the biggest we had been to and as a result the service was a bit spotty. I think the waiters had a hard time keeping track of all the tables. It took ages for our plates to be cleared from our table, when we were given the main our leftovers from the starters were still in front of us and I think our plates were still on the table when we were getting ready to leave. The waiters were really scatty and taking orders without writing anything down. Our waiter came to take our order and then stopped us half way through because he had some other order in his head and was afraid he'd forget!!!! (he told us this!) They were also guzzling pints of beer that they had hidden in a press! We had a laugh about the whole thing and I found it entertaining to watch, but was hugely disappointed in the standard of food that was put in front of us.
Santorini has so many restaurants and a lot of places we went to were extremely disappointing and hugely overpriced so make sure you do a lot of research before heading our for dinner.
