We took a ferry from Rhodes to Santorini which was supposed to arrive at 11pm. So we have Zak a call from the ferry and he said it wouldn't be a problem checking in late and even arranged for us to have a transfer from the port to the hotel. Well, there were some unexpected delays on the ferry and we didn't arrive until almost 4am! Zak stayed at the property until 4am to greet us and let us into our split level apartment. He's the owner so he takes so much care to make sure his guests receive great service. He gave us a quick tour and let us rest - told us he'd be back at breakfast to give us more details about the area and sure enough, bright and early he came by to see us. We booked a split level apartment for 6 girls. He had an open room upstairs that wasn't booked and could sleep to so he offered it to us for free unless someone else booked online. SWEET deal! We had a balcony twith two couches/benches right on the cliffside (amazing views) that we just sat on since it was so late to watch the sunrise.
Oia is a really nice village to stay in - probably the nicest in my opinion. Very romantic. Small streets and alleyways with hidden restaurants. Zak gave us really good restaurant recommendations for my birthday.
The group split up after Santorini. Four of us had to fly to Athens to catch our flight back to the States. He called his buddy on the spot to arrange a transfer from the airport to our Athens hotel and even got us a discount on the fare. Additionally, the other 2 girls in our group were staying one extra day and he gave them the split level apartment for a really good rate so they wouldn't have to move hotels.
This property was in an extremely good location, the best value, and the service is top notch. Remember, this is a boutique style accommodations. Don't go in expecting the Hyatt. It's a charming little property that Zak manages full time and he does a phenomenal job.
