My first impression of the hotel wasn't really what I was expecting. It's really difficult to come by yourself (book a transfer with the hotel before) and the public premises were a bit under my expectations. The honeymoon room is really nice with a lot space but I won't recommend it . I just choose this room due the private jacuzzi which looks a great idea, but this one it's in a locked room which makes you feel like in a sauna. Breakfast was a little bit poor. But in general I would recommend this hotel in case you want to stay in Oia. Staff really friendly since the guy which helped us with the baggage till the front office girl called Katarina.

Residence Suites is a great property. It's on the east facing cliff side right below the main path that leads through Oia. While all the tourist are taking photos of this area you will be relaxing on your terrace overlooking the ocean. It will honestly feel like you are living inside a postcard!

We stayed in a two bedroom cave suite. The room was large and laid out nice. The master bedroom was a normal size with a full bath, closet and dresser. The 2nd bedroom was much smaller and due to the angles of the walls it was harder to move around. There was also a small kitchen and another bathroom off the living room, which was quite big for a cave room.

This property is on the east facing cliff so you get morning and early afternoon sun. After that its in the shade.

The common area has a nice hot tub, cold water wading pool and a sun deck. The free breakfast is simple but filling. The front desk staff is helpful and the housekeeping staff are very friendly (they will wash all your dirty dishes)! The property is clean and well kept. Overall, you will be happy with this property.

Here is the deal with accommodations in Santorini, Greece. It is a cliff side village, meaning almost all the properties are stuck to the side of the cliff so you will need to walk up/down a bunch of stairs to access your room. Almost all cave rooms are laid out different. I might love the room I was in, however, that does not mean you will get the same room. I have visited all parts of this island and I have stayed in many of the properties. Overall, it's an amazing place and all the properties have their own charm. Its one of my favorite locations in the world.

I highly suggest staying in Oia for many seasons. First, it's one of the only villages that has a great view of the sunset. Second, the village is beautiful. Small windy cobblestone streets, cute shops, great restaurants and amazing cliff side dwellings. I would make this your base and rent a car/ATV/scooter and explore the island from here.

If you want a true sunset view from your room you must stay in the right property. I suggest Google Map "Golden Sunset Villas." All the properties around that place will have a full sunset view. If you stay in another property that faces east you will have to walk over to the sunset viewing decks to see it set.

The only reason I would not suggest staying in Oia is if you want a crazy night life (night clubs, crazy beach bars, etc.). If you are looking for that stay in Fira, one of the beach towns or go to Mykonos Island.

Well the town, views, classical setting of the room is all great. The problem is the service. I have never seen worst service, the hotel is effectively run by 2 teenage Russian girls who don't know what the word hospitality or service means. Between me and my girlfriend we speak 6 languages Greek and English being first languages and the people running the hotel in Greece weren't able to really speak either. The pictures of the rooms weren't representative of the actual rooms or locations. The room service came at 1800 and really only made the bed. In the three other hotels on this trip they were all Greek owned and operated. Those were amazingly different to residence suites.
Worst of all in the morning trying to enjoy a early breakfast,Quietly on the cliffs of oia all you could hear is the yelling of teenage Russian girls making a poor quality breakfast. I would make sure the hotel you are staying at is operated by Greeks!

Dear guests,
Thank you for taking the time and the effort of providing a feedback on you staying with us. We are glad that you enjoyed the views and the setting of our facility; nevertheless, we do feel obliged to object to your comment regarding the quality of the services provided.
Firstly, since one of your service evaluating criterion, which you emphasized twice, seems to be the age, ethnicity and native language of the company’s employees – which would contrast dramatically with the European applicable regulations in terms of free movement of workers/recruitment of personnel within the EU – we need to emphasise that the receptionists are English speaking Romanian adults legally employed in Greece. The age of the youngest receptionist being 25, we cannot consider your observation on our personnel so claimed “teen age”. Furthermore, we also find it necessary to provide you with some basic linguistic information (that we are surprised we need to specify since you already have knowledge of six languages, of which for sure at least one of them has Latin or Slavic roots): the Russian language is an East Slavic language while Romanian, the receptionists’ native language that you happened to hear, forms part of the Latin language family ... fact which is in any case irrelevant since the communication language between the customers and the personnel is English.
Moreover, the early rush of the receptionists preparing a “poor quality breakfast” (which is a significantly rich buffet, that takes quite some time and effort to make since many dishes are freshly prepared and cooked) intended to be completed in due time, cannot be qualified as “yelling of the teenage girls” who are actually striving to have everything ready until the breakfast opening time; their effort proves that they are trying to provide precisely the hospitality and service that you deemed as missing. As for the room service, we can assure you that your room would have been cleaned much earlier if you had only provided our cleaning personnel the opportunity to actually do it. Since you left the room very late, the chambermaids were prevented from cleaning it at an earlier time and during their working schedule, which ends at 18:00.We hope that you will consider staying at Residence suites again so that we may show you our gracious hospitality.

We booked a 3 night stay at Residence Suites and was very pleased that our unit was exactly as described. The bathroom has an odd smell but I believe it is because of the plumbing having to go through the rock and being open all the time. We dont smell it in any other part of the unit. We arent spending alot of the time in the bathroom (lol) so why bother complaining! The unit we stayed in was gorgeous and the views stunning!
The staff are very courteous and friendly and always willing to help. The Ecorama staff are always helpful on suggesting things to do and speak excellent english!
I would give this place 8 stars if they had this option.
Thanks everyone for an amazing vacation!!

we booked a cave room for four in late April. There are two separate bedrooms and a living room. The decoration and furniture are OK and the space is quite adequate for a family. The problem is with the bathroom. It's very outdated - the door can't be closed properly. There was no shower curtain to fence off the shower. So every time we had a shower, the whole bath room turned into a swimming pool! We talked to the staff and at first we were told that they forgot and it would be put up the next day. On the following day they said the curtain went to cleaning and should be put up the following day. On the fourth day when we checked out, we still didn't see it. Also, perhaps because we were the first guests to stay in this room for the season, when we first switched on the hot water tap, the water was rusty. It took us at least 15 minutes to drain the water out. The hotel should have checked this before we arrived! On the plus side, the breakfast was very good with a stunning view. However, seats are very limited and we wonder how the hotel can cope with more guests in the peak season. There are many hotels in Oia and we will try another one next time.

Dear guests,
Thank you for sharing your experience in staying with us and we are delighted that you enjoyed staying in one of our cave apartments. The traditional cave layout, right on the cliff side, is precisely the reason why the bathrooms are quite atypical and do not generally comprise a large area that could fit all classical bathroom accessories.
Moreover, since the water supply system of Oia Village is serviced by the nearby desalination plant, the reddish color of the water is occasionally given by the red soil residues produced by the plant and does not indicate the presence of rust. However, since the hotel accommodates guests all year round, this incident was not determined by the long unused time of the bathroom installation.
We are also glad that you enjoyed our breakfast combined with the beautiful view. As regards your concern for the capacity of the breakfast area, we can assure you that the seats are supplemented during the peak season in order to meet the needs of our guests. We hope that you consider returning to Residence suites when your travels next bring you to santorini so that we ll ensure your preferences are honored. In the interim, I remain at your service.

Our trip was just perfect ! Hotel is very well located. The Jacuzzi was just outside our room, in our 5 days we only had to share it once with another couple. Best part its turned on all night.

I have to mention Andrea, the staff who has absolutely amazing. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, every request was accommodated.
We don't consume meat so she made sure she has different things for breakfast every morning like french toast/ eggs and mushrooms different types of salads every single day. When we were getting late for the airport on our last day she packed us some breakfast without us even asking for it. She use to make us iced tea in a jug so we can sit and sip in the sun. These little yet thoughtful gestures made us feel so welcomed and happy. Free wi-fi with good connection.

The only downside of the hotel was the damp smell in the bathroom- but the clean sheets, excellent customer service, especially by Andrea and clean room made up for that.

Tip:The Hot springs near the Volcano are NOT hot plus you have to swim for like 5-10 mins in cold water before you get to the so-called hot springs. Once we jumped it was fine but expecting hot spring and getting cold water was not a pleasant surprise.

Overall it was amazing & relaxing.
