“Fantastic experience in Oia!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

From the moment you show up at Ikies, you are treated extremely well by the amazing staff. They go out of their way to show you the facilities and everything Oia has to offer. Although we had the most basic room, it was still fantastic. From the breakfast served right to our private balcony, to the incredible view, you can't ask for a much better place. Our only advice: pay more to get a larger room. It'll be worth every Euro!

Room Tip: If you can spend the money, get a room with a private spa. It doesn't get any better than that!

This deserves the accolades, from the views, the sunsets, the accomodation, the location.. But most of all the attentive, caring , nothing is too much trouble service from ALL the staff, in the evening when you asleep someone coned in and cleans the pool area, in the morning before you get up someone has come in and swept the outside area, when you come home from dinner someone has lit candles by the pool, if you are not feeling well they ring up the pharmacy for you, you want a nice restaurant the recommend one and manage to get you a nice table, if you are looking stressed they may offer you a free cocktail, if the water in your jacuzzi is to warm they will refresh it for you,,, the food is great,,, it's a memorable experience. It's not the cheapest,, but this is a case of you get what you pay for. We were sad to leave after 6 days, the girls in the office became our friends..... And I don't think I can say that about too many other places I gave been. If you want a totally fantastic experience then this is the place, people rave about ikies , and in this instance , I know why

We spent 5 nights last May in Ikies and our stay was perfect. We booked the stay 5 pay 4 offer for a maisonette and stayed 2 nights in the House of the Sailor and 3 nights in the House of the Cook. Both rooms are very beautiful but the House of the Cook is bigger and has the most amazing, unobstructed view of the caldera. We would have loved to book the one with the jacuzzi though as my son keeps on asking why we do not have a jacuzzi. Hehe. In any case, our stay was wonderful, the free breakfast every day served in our balcony (or inside when it is windy) is plentiful and very delicious. We have been addicted to Greek yogurt ever since. :) Thank you Ikies especially to all the wonderful and kind staff - to Louella, Stavos, etc - for making our Santorini trip so memorable! I can recommend Ikies to everyone as it offers the best value for money. Other hotels overlooking the caldera are so pricey!

Room Tip: Get a room with a jacuzzi if you can afford it... otherwise, the maisonettes are very beautiful espe...

We recently went on our honeymoon in Greece and Turkey and we began in Santorini at Ikies. Without a doubt, one of my favorite properties we have ever stayed in. The view is absolutely breathtaking (the Boatman's suite was near the top for a great view and very private!). The rooms are gorgeous (get one with a private jacuzzi). We also enjoyed that the hotel was just on the edge of Oia, as the village gets overrun with tourists and it was nice to be slightly outside of the chaos while still having easy access to it at quieter times (the morning and after sunset).
Perhaps best of all was the staff. Marie and Ines helped us most of the time and they were wonderful. Whether it was renting a car, providing attraction recommendations, booking massages or making dinner reservations, they always seemed to know what we would most enjoy. The staff that also brought food, drinks, etc to our room was also very prompt and polite. We stayed at 5 different hotels on our trip, including a Ritz, and this was by far the highlight! We will be back for sure!

Room Tip: The House of the Boatman seemed to be an excellent value- near the top of the property with a fantas...

My husband and sons (10 and 13) stayed in the Fisherman's house for 5 nights and loved it. Ikies' location is perfect, the views are gorgeous and the service was excellent. Louella, Ines and Maria were warm and generous hosts with great advice. We'd go back in a second.

Having messed up my booking (entirely my fault- I confirmed it too late), we ended up with two nights booked at the house of the artisan, and the remaining two nights at the house of the boatman. The switch from room to room was entirely seamless, and hassle free- we went out for the day on an ATV and everything had been moved for us. The service here is amazing, everyone is so friendly and helpful!

The rooms: the artisan was lovely, with a big spacious room and kitchen/ bar area. The bathroom was huge with a big walk in shower. The terrace was large and gorgeous, with views over Oia and the sea- it is adjacent to two other suites so not entirely private but this didn't really bother us. The boatman had a enclosed private terrace with an undisturbed view (it was only very partially overlooked by the suite above) but the room and especially bathroom was a bit more compact than the artisan. Both rooms were beautifully furnished and the hot tub was adjusted to be warm in the evenings and cold in the day which was much appreciated and needed for cooling off when sunbathing! The most important thing to me was having our own private space, with our own day beds/sun loungers and a pool/ plunge pool to cool off- I looked extensively at other hotels for this and could not find many that delivered for a reasonable price.

Another highlight was breakfast. It was tasty and beautifully presented- laid out on a white linen tablecloth on our own terrace each morning. There was a fair choice (including eggs, bacon etc) and preordered the day before and brought to us at our required time.

Oia is a easy 10min walk away, with plenty of restaurants cafes and cute shops to keep you occupied for a few days. Whilst Ikies does offer a food menu, it is slightly limited in terms of dinner options so we ate out most nights.

Our last night in Santorini was spent in Imergovigli, and though we went to a more expensive hotel, I wished I was back at Ikies- the service, set up, and room/ terrace is unbeatable and I am already planning my next trip back to Ikies!

Ikies is simply the best. If you are researching places to stay in Oia, stay here ... seriously, just book it now and move on to planning your adventures while on the island. The location is perfect, the rooms are each unique & awesome, the view is stunning, the food is crazy good... and best of all, is the staff (Maria, Ines, Louella, and everyone else). From the moment we arrived, it was like reconnecting with old friends. Kind, helpful, knowledgable, and fun. I mean, how often do you take photos with a property's staff when departing because they made your experience wonderful & you want to remember them? Needless to say, we're excited to get back soon.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with any of the rooms. Whatever your interest & budget allow.
