Knowing Sigalas wines since almost 15 years, we of course using every chance having one or more glasses of it at Paris Sigalas' winery directly!
It's the great place, the more than excellent wines, the phantastic seaview when sitting on the terrace in middle of one of his wine yards so that you only can enjoy! (And you can comfortably and accompanied by best wines have a great sunset there!)
Besides all this - my greatest souvenirs from Santorini I have found there: my beloved 2 cats, which have been treated excellent at Sigalas winery, where they have spent the first months of there lifes before I took them with me in late autumn almost 2 years ago....

I had reviewed this on TripAdvisor and although not made an itinery had hoped we would visit the Winery which was so close to were we stayed at Atlantida Villas. We walked to Baxedas and Paradise Beaches in the morning and passed the Winery which we noted opened at 12 midday. On our way back we visited the Winery, 10 euros to sample 12 different wines! We ordered a Greek Salad which was the best we had tasted on our 7 day trip. The waitress was very knowledgable (had a masters degree in ... Winery! and was doing her PhD in the same....She explained how the grapes were grown and knew all about the acidity, additives etc. The location was wonderful and we got a Taxi back to our Hotel as the heat in the midday sun and the wine's made us a bit tipsey.

We had a lovely lunch at Sigalas. We were especially excited to view the winery as Sigalas is the only Santorini wine sold at our local wine shop in New Jersey. We walked both ways from Oia, and while some others have talked about taking a taxi back up the hill, the walk is really not bad at all. We especially enjoyed the empty roads after the crowds of Oia! We found the food at Sigalas very good and the surroundings wonderful. As others have noted, you do not actually tour the winery, but as we knew this informationin advance, it was not an issue for us.

We wanted to visit and walked from Oia. There were no signs with directions, we were lucky to come across people who has just been there. It was a good 30 minutes walk from Oia in the hot sun. You must follow the road to Finikia and turn left towards the ocean. Follow the winding road until you smell the fermentation, you will see mounds of grape skins and branches, the winery is on the left. Great wines, many to select from. We were told the food was very good for lunch. Recommended if you can walk this far or rent a car.

This was our second stop on our self-guided wine tour in Santorini. We were a little bummed out about the wines at our other stop so we only tried 3 wines each (4 people cost 6.30 euro) and had a plate of bread and olive oil. The whites we tried were good, but we did not care for the rose. The winery is very cute and picturesque, but since it's down towards the coast, there aren't really any views. Smaller and more homey vibe than Santo Winery.
