Although there is no sunset view from this restaurant, Candouni is a very romantic restaurant. The waiter is very knowledgeable and honest about the dishes on the menu. A lovely experience!

...and excellent cooking! The crew is top friendly, skilled and speak any language, the place is just away from the crowded streets; there's no panorama view, but in our opinion it's the best restaurant in Oia. Prices are not the cheapest by absolutely worth the experience.

Panos was a fabulous waiter, owner, and guy overall. The experience from the start was great- we were seated immediately, Panos got our drink order right away, brought us out some appetizers for the table (which were DELISH!), and placed our order for our meal. The meal itself was authentic and traditional, which was a great way to end our trip for our last night in Greece!

We hung out at the table with Panos till 4:30am chatting/eating/chatting. The desserts were FABULOUS too (get the chocolate cake and the baklava, yum!)

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Santorini. It's a must!

Having been recommended this restaurant by friends we were looking forward to a pleasant evening out. This was not to be. I am on a medically controlled diet and have found all the restaurants we have been to in Santorini to be helpful and accommodating. All I asked for was for the vegetables to accompany my fish to be replaced by a plain salad. They refused. It seems all you can have is what is on the menu, no variations. Very disappointing so we paid for drinks and left.

Struck lucky with a table at Kandouni having walked in on spec, while the sunset watchers were otherwise engaged. We were placed in a quiet position against a wall with a couch and cushions. Overall ambience felt good - a few flies about, but to be expected as we were sat in a quiet, sheltered courtyard area.

Menu is varied, food quite expensive compared with other establishments. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine list.

Food took a while to arrive, but we were in no rush so no problem. Darkness arrived though and lighting was not really encouraged. In a bizarre twist, a waiter came to light candles set in recesses in the wall. You could see the history of wax drips from each recess, most finding their way on to the cushions on the couch and in danger of hitting the ladies' handbags.

Food arrived and I'd like to say it was presented well, but I was struggling to see it. My daughter scavenged her plate using an Android torch app. Other than that, it tasted OK but for me dining is a multi-sense occasion.

By far the most expensive meal we had and this was bread, wine, water and coke + 3 main courses for 110 Euros. Ouch.

We did get complimentary dessert wine to finish which was excellent and service all round was very good.
