Maybe our most enjoyable meal on our recent visit to Greece. Karma is a tiny courtyard restaurant down a meandering little side street. Were it not for the taxi driver, I don't think we would have found it on our own. When we arrived (a party of five for a birthday dinner) at about 7 p.m., there was no one there. The waiter was kind, knowledgeable and courteous. We were seated quickly and our order eventually taken. Everything I tasted, and I tasted a lot, was fantastic. From the chickpea stew to the tomato balls, from the Greek Salad to the grilled Octopus, the Soutzoukakia to the Souvlaki--all were exceptionally good. Perhaps the weakest part of the meal was the Greek coffee. It was cold and sweeter than ordered.
Note: Probably about 30 minutes after we arrived, the place began to fill, until there was a line waiting to get in at around 9. As the place began to fill, the service began to wane. But, that's expected, I think. It was a memorable evening and a really wonderful birthday meal.
