We had our anniversary dinner here in Fanari, in Oia. We prebooked to ensure we got a table or sunset, the restaurant did not let us down!!!

We made our way through the sunset watching crowd to the very pretty venue, we were greeted so nicely and shown to our reserved table.

We shared a nice bottle of local red wine, starting with the amuse bouche of fresh warm bread with an anchovie dip. We both had the sardine salad starter - which was melt in the mouth and generous in portion size.

My OH had the beef medallions in the vinsanto sauce, which were delicious and i would of had food envy had my sesame prawns not been as yummy as they were.

All this while we watched the sunset and ships sail in and out, as the night drew in.
Service was attentive, warm and so helpful - to the point of even calling our hotel taxi for us. We were also treated to a celebratory dessert, which was in in the style of a volcano - so apt for where we were!

Atmosphere was busy but relaxed, all the staff were calm and had nice smiles on their faces, which reflects in the mood

so with wine, water, 2 courses each and service, we paid 100 euros and I can assure you, it was well worth it!
The level of service and quality of food was great when you consider you are in Oia and a basic lunch of 1 course each and soft drink, sets you back about 35/40 euro

I am certain to return here and will advise my friends to do so also.

We ate here on Saturday night and while the food itself was OK, we were particularly disappointed with the service.
We had the set menu which consisted of a starter, salad, main and 'dessert spoon'/coffee.
The zucchini/feta starter was quite nice, the salad was a standard Greek salad, while both of our mains were average. Mine was basically chicken in a bog-standard curry sauce (it actually gave me a wave of nostalgia for Chip Lane in Cardiff), and my partner's was fish in a very similar curry sauce.
Unfortunately the delay between the salad and main course was a good 40 minutes, so after wolfing our mains down in 5 minutes flat, we had to leave and run to get the last bus from Oia. This meant we missed the 'dessert spoon'/coffee part, so what that involved will remain a mystery.
While there was a brief apology after we asked the waiter to check on the mains (we were obviously conscious of the time), there was no apology offered when we had to leave early and thus miss the last course. There was no reduction in the price either, which meant paying for a course we did not receive.
Given the extremely high standard of service we experienced elsewhere in Greece and the fact that most service staff seemed to fall over themselves to please their customers, this experience stood out (and alone) for all the wrong reasons.
Needless to say, we won't be returning and would advise others to avoid it too in favour of the many other places in Santorini where your custom is valued.

A breathtaking view of the sunset from all of its terraces. We were lucky to find a table just 30 min before the sunset. An upscale restaurant in a beautiful location offering an excellent food in a dream like atmosphere. A must when visiting Oia.

My partner and I both agreed that the view was amazing, the food was cooked well and tasty (we are both well travelled foodies) but I did feel we paid for the view which as it was, was worth it. Service was great, give it a go, it is definately worth it for the view!

Oh and you do need to book..........
