“Excellent Value, Stunning Views”

Everything Maria says about this little apartment is true, some of the things other reviewers have stated are not! There is indeed a great view of the caldera, but, certainly in September, the sunset cannot be seen , although it is only a few steps to a great viewing area. The welcoming bowl of fruit was a little sparse and the wine was limited, but these shortcomings were more than made up for by Maria's hospitality - she even invited us to the terrace of her own house for snacks, wine (plenty of it!), and THE SUNSET! The villa itself has all the amenities deccribed. We found the air conditioning very difficult to master, and the fan box at the head of the four-poster bed seems to have a mind of its own - get Maria or George to explain its workings in detail before you sleep there! To have A/C in a cave house may seem a little over-the-top, but was necessary. A ceiling fan would be a welcome addition.

“Stunning views, excellent service”

On arrival we were told that we'd been upgraded from the junior suite to the luxury suite, Number 15 (this sort of thing only happens to other people!). We were delighted. Once inside the front door there is a shower room with a sink and a toilet to the left and a flight of stone stairs to the right which leads up to the main living area. At the top of the stairs is a small sink with mini bar underneath. Another shower room with sink and toilet. The main room has two balconies leading off. One with a table and two chairs, the other the hot tub, which looks out on the amazing view of Oia and the Caldera. Then off to the left is a massive bedroom with a huge double bed. The service was faultless and nothing was too much trouble. We only had the delightful breakfast delivered to our room once as there was a fantastic bakery within easy reach and the smell from there was always enticing! Thank you to all the staff at Armeni Village. we will be back!

“Fantastic cave house rental”
Reviewed April 26, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

My husband and I stayed here in early Spring. First off the bat, the cave house is VERY well equipped, probably one of the best equipped vacation rentals and we've rented through VRBO/Homeaway in Europe and the US extensively over the last several years. Maria, the owner and manager of the unit is extremely helpful and provided actually more than we needed including a welcome bottle of port and a fresh loaf of grain bread everyday of our stay and daily housekeeping service (which we really didn't need but very nice just the same). The beds are a little hard, but we've found that throughout Greece. The view from the house is exactly as the pictures present. The deck hot tub is wonderful, especially at night. Yes, there are lots of steep stairs to and from the unit, but that is a feature of all of Oia. Do not hesitate to book. The price is competitive with others of the same quality and standard. Maria represents the best of genuine Greek hospitality and will take care of whatever you need. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

“Great Experience”

We stayed on Santorini for 7 days in March/April. Maria was amazing just like all of the reviews say. We had a great time and all of her recommendations were perfect for our family.

Three days in, the novelty of the stairs and the walk from the car really wore off. My kids (ages 3 & 4) just weren't into the hike any more and we often ended up with one in tears and or one in our arms along with whatever else we were carrying. We tried to tough it out but ended up asking Maria if we could possibly get a refund for the last two days to move somewhere closer to the road. She was wonderful and understood. First offered for us to look at her other rentals in Oia but there was still quite a hike from the parking lot. Then offered us a full refund for our last two days.

It was a great experience staying in the Greek Paradise cave house. Maria came up with some toys for the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The bathroom ceiling was a bit short for my husband in the shower. Overall we had a great time.

“What I imagined it to be”

My friends and I decided to get away for a week. We decided upon this Villa from the pictures, and when we got there it was absolutely gorgeous. The view is amazing, the villa is perfectly sized for a small group of people, and the town is what you imagine it to be. It was the off-season, so there wasn't much going on, nor people in the village, but it was a perfect getaway from the city. I definitely want to go back, perhaps try another of villas that Maria runs. She is a great host and makes sure that everything is up to par. I'm looking forward to the next time.
