We go to the bay to take picture and take the tour to caldera. The sea is beautiful clear green and blue and you can see Oia up in the hill

“Don't miss it”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

You would realy miss something if you visit Oia without going down to Amoudi Bay. Excellents restaurants down there, extremely scenic, the atmosphere is unique. You reaaly feel cut from the rest of the world.

“Great place for fresh seafood”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

One can either take a short taxi ride down from Oia, ride the donkey down, walk down via the stairs. We chose to walk, but one must be relatively fit for the walk up and wear good shoes as there are many potholes. Don't forget a torchlight if walking at night as the path is not well lit!

There are a few seafood restaurants there. The fish was super fresh as they are brought in daily by the fisherman. Definitely recommend a visit!

“Amoudi Bay is great but don't stop there - walk the path to the best swimming spot!”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Amoudi Bay is a scenic spot and great views up to Oia - but don't stop at the port. Continue along the rugged path around the cliff for a fantastic swimming spot. It is a small rocky beach - sort of. You lower yourself into the water from the rocks for a great swim across to another rock - there you can climb up the cliffs to a small little church or a daring jump into the ocean. Warm water, not to rough, and not too crowded.

“Magistical Place”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

This was a last minute decision to go and are we glad we went. Not opting for the stairs we took our quads via a road that will lead you to the bottom. From there a walk to the bay, can be a bit tricky for some but take your time as it is well worth it. Not really an area to put your towel down and soak up the sun but the pristine setting and water makes up for it. There is a lovely swim to a tiny island which is close by. After that we had a relaxing lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the bay. They pricy but the setting is spectacular. Well worth a visit.
