Follow the path to the most desirable place to swim. The cool waters will be your reward after the long trek down.

A must visit if you're staying in Oia... if you can manage all of the steps!!

It's definitely worth it though, the views back up to Oia are stunning, and the fish restaurants really are delicious!

Food at Sunset Tavern was so fresh and amazing. We had a table literally in the edge of the water. Such a special and unique experience!

There are lots of steps to walk down from Oia to get to Amoudi bay, and as some others have mentioned these are pretty treacherous in places (downward sloping steps with some slippery areas) and covered with smelly donkey poop in a few areas. We surely didn't want to make the climb back, so we got a taxi to take us back to Oia centre (for €10). Would recommend you take that option, especially in the afternoon. A donkey ride didn't seem appealing to us, though it may be for some people.

We had a good lunch at Dimitris... Fresh grilled snapper and shrimp saganaki (too bland for me but hubby liked it) and fava for appetizers. The waitress was very nice in suggesting an adequate sized portion of the fish for two of us, rather than quietly letting us order the whole fish.

We walked past the 'Danger' sign and after a bit of climbing up and down rocks, came to a lovely swimming and cliff jumping area which seemed to be very popular.

Some nice views from the bay but the hike down and up the steps is tiring and treacherous. Also, it smelled pretty bad as no one cleans up after the donkeys.
