“Not great but not that bad”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

This is a tough one to review especially with all the mixed reviews here. We tried this place without reading any reviews on it and stumbled upon it while walking around the south end. the view isn't as spectacular as others in the main strip as it's on the 2nd floor but on the opposite side of the pedestrian walkway. We were past sunset so I can't comment if you can see it from here but to be honest if you want to get a sunset meal view, you should be in the northern end of Oia anyways.
First off, restaurant was maybe half full but the service was not good likely due to a few larger tables at the same time. We had to flag the waiter down to order our drinks and that took awhile to get there. My husband had the lamb chops (good flavor but you get about 4 pieces which is a normal portion but he definitely needed a starter). I had the calamari which was ok a bit dry. We always get Greek Salad and tzatziki which were both very good. Table beside us ordered mousaka which supports some of the reviews here as they didn't even finish it.
The service did improve over the meal and wouldn't give them a hard time as they weren't rude just a bit disorganized (only 2 guys and a bartender) and busy.

“amazing view - disappointing food”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We watched the famous Oia sunset from Petros, which is ideally situated. The food was very disappointing, though. Little thought had been given to presentation or quality e.g. my husband's tuna salad was made with tinned tuna and sweet corn, heaped on a mountain of lettuce with mayonnaise/salad cream slopped on top. Service was efficient and polite and prices reasonable, the location is fantastic, but we tend to go to a restaurant to eat! Very disappointed.

“Pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

We were a little hesitant after reading the trip advisor reviews but were all pleasantly surprised! The view is great. The staff on the night were very helpful and attentive, they helped us picked a bottle of wine to suit our tastes and were right on! The eggplant saganaki was delicious... Absolutely amazing! We were really pleased with our meal and i suspect they've made some changes since the other reviews. I had the tenderloin with mushroom which was good cooked and couldn't really fault.

“Thoroughly enjoyed our meal”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

Can't believe some of the negative reviews. To each their own, I guess! We had a wonderful meal here and a fair price. I loved being able to see the caldera view to one side, the sunset to the other (though blocked by plastic glass to help the wind but still you can see, and then the village streets down below. For a family, it was a plus b/c there is a park below that our children played at while we enjoyed our wine. For us, it was family cooking at its best. The tomato fritters were AMAZING and we were so glad to try them there. We had the sunset salad which was so huge and delicious that we had our left overs for lunch the next day and it was still fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed his fish, and I enjoyed my pasta. The service was great and the waiters were so friendly with a warm smile. A beautiful evening in beautiful Oia. Oh, and you can get a decent liter of house wine for much cheaper than anywhere else.

“Great food and service”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

We had four nights at Oia and we chose to eat at Petros two of these nights. The food is great value and the service was impeccable. The staff served us with a smile and even when they had a booked large table to serve, we were not left out. 10 out of 10 for service, food and value. We certainly will be back to Oia and to Petros
