“Absolutely delicious!”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

This was our favorite meal the entire time we were in Greece. My husband and I shared the lobster spaghetti, and it was just delicious! The sauce is some kind of orange pesto to die for, and the ambiance of this restaurant is unforgettable. The walk down the steep steps was part of the fun - walk down the steps to get here, and take a taxi home!

“Nice and Relaxing Place To Eat”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We had drinks and appetizer here. The view of the port is amazing. The food was pretty good too. Overall, nice restaurant with good service.

“Pricey; average service”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We were taken back by how expensive this place was. The fish price was outrageously high comparing with other restaurants in the island. The service was not very good and the view from the restaurants up in the hills is much better. I would not recommend this restaurant. I mean 50 E was their least expensive fish. It's just ridiculous.

“We enjoyed the food but were happy to leave!”
Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

We were looking towards our evening at the cavern, enjoyed the location close to the sea and picked some fresh fish from a broad choice. But the fact that waiters were literally running around our table the entire evening, the hectic and long waiting for our food was rather unpleasant. This place is really a victim of its own success.

“A bit hit and miss”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

Most people on the island will recommend this restaurant. Both our hotel and our wine tour guide did. It is more pricey than I would have like though, and I don't mind paying for good food and service. Our wine tour guide said to get the lobster spaghetti, that it's for two people and their specialty. He didn't say that it was 95 Euro (130 US dollars). That's a little too high for pasta, lobster or no. Most fresh seafood on the island, it turns out, costs this much. We ended up ordering the octopus, grilled vegetables, tomato balls, and the swordfish. The octopus was terrible. To their credit, the fully disclosed on the menu which items were fresh and which were frozen (caught in the off season). However, we ordered octopus at almost every restaurant while in Santorini which means that their octopus was frozen too--this was the only restaurant in which you could tell. It wasn't tender, it lacked flavor, and was just overall blah. I ended up drizzling it with olive oil and salt and pepper to doctor it up a bit which helped but overall, it wasn't good. Also the tomato balls, which came highly recommended, were inedible. The only thing we could taste was grease, with a little basil at the end. My husband hates fried food, so it's expected that he might not like it; however, I typically love all food, and I agree with him that it just lacked any redeeming qualities. As for the grilled vegetables, they were fine, as most grilled vegetables are. The swordfish was delicious. It had great flavor. This was the star of the meal--as it should be. Admittedly, it's cool to pick out your own fish from their catches of the day--expensive as it is. And the fish was perfect which sort of saved the meal. Even though the main course was a 5, the lackluster side dishes brought my score down to a 3.

As for setting, we got there later so we missed sunset, but it was still quite beautiful. Directly on the water overlooking Amoudi Bay. The restaurant is huge so it's noisy and not a romantic setting but we hadn't expected it to be so that is no fault of the restaurant. There are plenty of places to eat if you want a romantic setting. This is a place to eat for fresh seafood--you're just going to pay a lot for it.
