“a Normandy hideaway”

We had a spacious room with sea view (and "Les Falaises"). The little terrace was fantastic for the sunset ("rayon vert" means the "green flash" right after sunset). The hotel is in an old 'bourgeois' house, stylishly renovated with modern furniture and new bathrooms. No elevator, no parking, but there nearby parking where we left the car during the stay. The prices of the room are very reasonable. For dining we went to restaurants at the seafront, excellent also "The Dormy House" at the cliff.

Room Tip: seaview recommended, better even with balcony

Location was good, right on strip. Room was a tad on expensive side at 325 USD for a night...had the "suite". Balcony was great. Hurdle is no wifi as it was knocked out from the previous week's storm. Hard to travel now days without wifi as there was minimal wifi throughout the restaurants and the town Tourist Info Center was a hang out for backpackers in the evening so wifi was nil.

If you drive, forget about parking in town. I had read other reviews about parking hurdle and it is true. We spent 30 minutes sitting in jams throughout town, drove to two public lots on south side of town that were full. We ended up parking in the lots outside of town that you will pass on way into town that is a good 25 minute walk for folks in shape. As I did not want the Mini sitting outside of town for the night for any looters, I walked back out and drove back into town at 2100 hrs. Spent 90 minutes in a five hour period dealing with parking. Will not stay in town again considering parking and lack of wifi.

Overall, the hotel for a decent room with great view of cliffs, the place is decent.

Room Tip: pay a little more and get a balcony as you will watch the sun set on the ocean.

We stayed one night in a room with a city view and a shower. The room was small but clean and quite adequate and comfortable, and the shower was very good (powerful enough). The location of the hotel is wonderful, right on the beachfront, with a view of the famous cliffs. Both the service, wifi and breakfast were good - remember that we are in France! Several restaurants nearby, as is the town centre itself. We were quite happy with the hotel.
The only negative was that there is no lift, so lugging heavy suitcases up the winding staircase was quite a feat. The hotel has no parking, either, but there is a big public - not expensive - car park close to the hotel.

After three nights at the Crayon Vert I was very satisfied with their service. Friendly service and very clean property. Only drawback is that there is no elevator so watch out if you carry any bag as there is no bell man. It is pricey for Etretat so if you are traveling on a budget this is not a place for you...

This is a very stylish and comfortable hotel and the view of the sea and the balcony do add to its appeal. However, it was very expensive compared to other hotels we stayed in on this trip which were at least equally as nice.
The breakfast was very poor indeed. A yogurt, a couple of pieces of baguette and a smear (no exaggeration) of preserve. We had to ask for more jam just to accomodate the bread ration and were made to feel greedy- just one cup of coffee too: no offer to fill up.
No opportunity to make hot drinks in the room, either. In other places we have had this an bottled water too.

The parking is a real issue, actually. You need to be fit.

We had a great room with view of the cliff. The service is phenomenal, the staff is very pleasant and helpful.
The room are clean, modern and the bathrooms are new
No elevator so be prepared! It is Europe and it is the way it is.
The hotel is in an old 'bourgeoise' house like you can on the whole Normandy coast.
The prices of the room are also very reasonable.
we didn't eat breakfast or diner there but it was very inviting....
no parking: I suggest parking at the abandoned train station like we did and leave the car during the stay. You don't need a car in Etretat.... again Europe and a small amount of space for cars.... no big deal

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are great and if you stay more than one night get one with a balcony you can see th...
