We went to Les Roches Blanches restaurant, by a beautiful evening last July, and enjoyed a very special meal there. We sat a the busy terrace, but changed place 3 times during the evening as it got progressively chilly. The waiter was efficient but chilly as well, however, luckily for us the manager took care of us. We ordered the menu at 25€ and a bottle of Bordeaux. It just happened that we had the very same wine (that we ordered),in March, at the hotel du lac in Combourg, and loved it. We mentionned this to the manager, who was pleased to tell us he may have this bottle of Chateau du vieux moulin, and that it might even be 2005, which indeed it was! We were thrilled and it was delicious, as was the food. It was not the tourist trap that we expected being on the sea front and enjoying beautiful views. The food was delicious and well presented. Towards the end of the evenig we chatted to the manager, who gave us a brandy on the house and as the kitchen staff were leaving we were able to thank them for their efforts in presenting such lovely meals. We may not go to Etretat again, but we will always remember the lovely evening we spent at Les Roches blanches, sipping a now rare 2005 Bordeaux (reasonnably priced) enjoying the sun going down beyond the Falaises.
