Although a pebble beach, there are tree gorgeous arches in Etretat, two of them can be seen from the beach. We came towards 7:00 P.M. and the sun graced both arches, making them more attractive than ever! The sea was a bit wild and it rolled its waves like thunder. The cliffs themselves were quite imposing. On the top of one of them was a picturesque church. The town itself had character, but traffic was bad.

“Wonderful views”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

Once you arrived in Etretat village it was very easy to get to the cliffs (falaises) and enjoy the wonderful views. The village of Etretat suffered from touristic overload though. Easy to take the bus from Le Havre (only 2 euros per adult).

Walking up the cliffs to appreciate the beauty of the scenery - we were lucky with the weather that we could sit and picnic and watch the boats

“Fabulous views in a nice area”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

Staying for three days in this senic area was very nice. We spend several hours hiking on the sentiers along the magnificent coastline with the tall white cliffs. The area has lots of nice mountainbike paths as well.
Walking into the tunnels of the cliffs and exiting in the small beach was exiting and fun.
The area has more to offer than we thought before going there and we would like to come back one day.

“Absolutely stunning views!”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

This sight, along with the beautiful village of Etretat, is such a worthwhile side/day trip if visiting the Normandy region of France. Before arriving here, we really didn't know what to expect other than the famous and scenic "white cliffs"....we had no idea there was even going to be a village here. As you approach this area of Normandy, you have to walk thru the township of Etretat towards the coast, where you arrive at a seaside promenade/beach. From here you can simply admire the views, or if your ambitious you can make the steep hikes up to the tops of the cliffs - one on either side of the promenade walkway. The views from atop the cliffs are quite stunning and well worth the hike if you are able....although the hiking trail is quite steep.
The village of Etretat was also very enjoyable to wonder through.
