great hotel! The building is an old mill that have been renovated with great taste! My own favorite was the shower 6 jets! Continental breakfast with croissants, fresh bread, homemade jelly was included. I will definitively go back if I am in the area.

I was with a group on a ship’s excursion to the Ile de Orleans in Quebec, Canada. This is an old French regime (1720) water mill that ground the grains of the farmers that has been converted into lovely restaurant. There were a number of tour buses visiting the island so the restaurant was crowded. We were seated upstairs and served a 3 course lunch with the option of 3 main entrees along with a glass of wine, beer or soda as well as tea or coffee. The food arrived hot. My salmon was nicely prepared with a variety of vegetables and potatoes. The other options were a maple grazed chicken breast and a beef stew with goat cheese. My table mates all enjoyed their meals and no complaints were offered. This menu was a group menu but the restaurant has a very nice lunch and dinner menu which is listed on the internet for those traveling solo. The aromas of the French Onion soup was heavenly.
The service was quick but friendly. There are antique home items decorating the large downstairs and upstairs rooms. The wheel is gone for the water power but the fall is present with a little bridge crossing the stream connecting the parking lot with the restaurant.
This is a family owned and run establishment. They also offer cabins to rent and do catering. The menu looks very inviting using the local produce and dairy products of the isle of Orleans.
This was my second visit with a group to this restaurant and it did not disappoint.
There is no elevator to the second floor and the restroom facilities feature 4 stalls and one sink that serves both sexes.

We stopped there one night this week. There were Two large bus groups and people were squashed in, so that the staff are passing food across the table as they can’t get by.

The food is basic home cooking, definitely not fine cuisine as they advertise.

I had a “Bison, elk and venison stew in an island beer sauce”. Sounded interesting but the meat was indistinguishable and the sauce was unremarkable. The other people in our group had a section of salmon slapped on the plate with nothing but a few vegetables.

The mill is very old but the place lacks any real atmosphere.

Visited Ile d'Orleans on our first full day in Quebec Province, a dreary rainy day. First stop looking for brunch/lunch was unable to accommodate us but graciously suggested an alternative and called ahead to make a reservation for us. Le Moulin de Saint-Laurent was that recommendation and we were extremely pleased. The building is an old mill with foot thick stone walls offering a very "homey" atmosphere. Food was delicious, service very good and the ambiance was lovely with wonderful soothing background music while we dined in a back room. The fact that the main dining room was filled with a large number guests transported by bus would have been unknown to us if we hadn't walked through the dining room. We shared a bowl of soup (pumpkin) and I had the salmon and my husband had seafood stuffed crepes. All delicious.

We returned to this restaurant and could not be more happy .

Food was amazing very tasty we went for lunch had the Salmon did not eat one that tasted as good as this one for a long time .

We usually go to this place twice a year when we visit Quebec City but in 2016 we had a bad experience food was awful along with the service with a group of 20 people most of them from Quebec City and none of them returned after that day .

This time around why not give it a try but we were only 3 this time and could not be more happy service was incredible food was amazing and could not ask for a better lunch like we had this time around .

Service waitress was very nice which is always nice when going to a restaurant and with the hot weather we had it was even better to visit Ile D'Orléans .

Thanks for a nice dinner and you can tell your Chef to continue his great work as we sure will return for sure and bring the rest of the family.
