“Simple food, generous portions, great value & free WiFi”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

We holiday regularly in Capestang and have eaten at the Grille many times, most recently last week. AS the name suggests, grilled food is the mainstay of the menu sausage, lamp, beef, duck all cooked to order and served with a mound of frites for between 10 and 15 Euro. They also do a good (i.e. thin) wood fired pizzas and a selection of (enormous) salads as well as the plat du jour menu which is fantastic value at around 11 Euro for three courses.

I have read other reviews which suggest that the English are not welcome at the Grille but that has certainly not been our experience; even though we are perfectly happy to order in French the staff typically speak English to us from the get go (to the point that I had to ask them not to so that we could practice our French) and they have without exception been very welcoming, courteous and prompt. They are even happy for us to stay at our table for half the afternoon using the free WiFi long after lunch service has finished.

This is where we always go for our bar meals and general daily coffee/beer to watch the world go by.
The food is good value with a varied menu .

“Simple, but sound.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

Just returned from 2 weeks in this location. The food at the Grille is simple stuff mostly well cooked and even when busy, with pretty quick service. Food was fine for what the restaurant tries to be. Bar is good too - many Rugby shirts on the walls form the previous owner - I donated one too: will be interesting to see if it is up there nexty time I go there, which I will.

“Good value lunchtime venue”

Great value mid-day menu for €11.50. 3 courses with wine. Great to see that place like this still exist (and appear to do well) in France.

“Bon appetit a la Grille”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

We have visited la Grille regularly over the last couple of years, either for a meal or just for drinks.
At all times we have found Frank,Thierry, Patrice and all the staff friendly and efficient. The food is good, simple fayre reasonably priced and the house wine extremely moreish. The new heated conservatory is ideal in cooler weather. We think if you want restaurant food and service, then choose a restaurant to dine. La Grille will continue to receive our custom during the weeks ahead.
