We have spent 1 week there in May with our child and the appartment was nicely decorated but lack of care of "little details like:
- the shower curtain too short in 1 bathroom & no "water plastic or glass protection" in the 2nd one, so both bathrooms were fluded everytime we having a shower... :-(
- Bath towels not drying because the appartment is humid. (old stones building)
- No security inside the Domaine. No closed parking. Gate accessing inside the Domaine open 24hours, no camera, no alarm (?)... just a booklet inside the appartment explaining we have to close ourselves inside the bedrooms at night in case of robbery.
- the dog of the family is very nice but always entering the appartment to ask for food if you letting the entrance door (which is the only access to the garden...) open.
- The lady is very nice but her husband bothered us talking about his "rich friends" blablabla at breakfast... he seems nice but he is talking too much and is not aware he can bother customers.
Apart all that, the place is pleasant, quiet, charming, well maintained, clean. There is even a service of "beauty" on order. (manucure, pedicure, massages, waxing etc...) Nice shop also with good products from the area and very good homemade jams! :-)
Beware that le "Domaine des Clos" is a beautiful Mas in the middle of the vineyards but that Beaucaire, Tarascon and the cities around are ugly and not secure.
The Domaine is not situated in Provence but in Gard region!

Sandrine and David, along with their lovely family and hilarious dog Daisy, were the most gracious hosts providing a warm welcoming stay in their gorgeous converted winery. An absolute must for any group traveling with children as delicious meals could be enjoyed whilst the kids remained occupied with table tennis, table football, petanque and the pool in very safe surrounds. Many thanks for the wonderful memories that this Australian family will have forever! Seek out Sandrine's home made Rhubarb jam on the breakfast table - absolutely to die for!

We stayed at this beautiful 'mas' which has been lovingly restored by David and Sandrine.
The style and decoration is an eclectic mix of old and new beautifully blended to create the most charming setting.
They have thought of everything a guest may want from a peaceful retreat. Once you have been welcomed you are free to enjoy the beautiful grounds which have been laid out to provide both a delight to the eye and secluded corners for guests to wander and relax.
Breakfast is served at a large table with other guests and so if you want to join in and chat it is easy (languages permitting). David and Sandrine joined us all for breakfast and offered assistance with daily plans. After a full season of doing this I was amazed they could keep up the enthusiasm, they clearly have a genuine interest in people.
Breakfast is a continental breakfast as one would expect in France, the assorted breads and home made preserves were delicious, with an endless supply of coffee breakfast was a relaxed start to the day. We eat out most days but also enjoyed lighter meals which we prepared in the well equipped guest kitchen and ate in the guest dining room.
The mas is well situated for exploring this beautiful area, it is easy to find and on a good conecting road.
The last mention has to go to Daisy the dog who was so welcoming we instantly felt at home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Domaine de Clos and did not want to leave. Lots of activities, plus many areas to relax and read, enjoying the gorgeous weather and gardens.

Several common kitchens to use, but you need to buy paper towels in addition to food you want to prepare for lunch for dinner (when not dining at one of the nearby gourmet bistros).

I can't wait to return for another visit...only longer.

Browsing tripadvisor I almost stumbled over this gem tucked away in the provence, central to nimes/arles/avignon/st remy de provence/ste marie les bains and many other beautifull places in the provence. a quick call was all it took to make the reservations and off we were.

upon arrival, we ... couldn't find the place. it's not on a real road, so we called and got immediate assistance, remember to enter 'les clos' in your gps for smooth sailing ;-)

the location is incredible, the domain - well restored to its previous splendor - is situated on impressive grounds (the gardens) bordered by grapevines on all sides. we spent many happy hours walking the gardens, having a glas of wine on the lawn, resting by the pool or playing with the dog Daisy a true part of the family.

David and Sandrine are warmhearted people who have made "Des Clos" their live's goal , in the dining room you can browse their exploits documented in many photograps over the years.

We found our room (the pink one) very nice, the bathroom was brand new and up to date, the interior decorated to style the atmosphere of the domain. The communal spaces dining room and kitchen were welcome extra rooms when needed. Not wanting to eat out every day, we put it to good use.

The last evening Sandrine surprised almost all guests with a table d'hôte, excellent food and a tremendous atmosphere, French, Italian, Swiss and of course also Belgians enjoying diner.

And then we had to leave, certain to return one day !

As I read through previous reviews, some of which were very negative, it occured to me that perhaps some people should just stay at home, or if they travel at all, stay in a Hilton or a Mariott or a Holiday Inn, where the rooms are all identical to those in Cleveland, and where there are no surprises or touches of originality. A stay at the Domaine des Clos is perfect for those who truly want to experience the country they are in, and not for those who think they can take their habits and their oversized appetites with them everywhere they go. The Domaine des Clos, first and foremost, is a family home which has been lovingly prepared for guests. And, as a guest, you are expected to fend for yourself 99% of the time. That's just fine with me, because I come here to relax and unwind and to have a peaceful place to rest after a day of sightseeing. I don't come here for a fattening English Breakfast or for round the clock service. If that's what you want, go stay in Avignon. What you'll miss are the sublime pleasures of this old farm, the wind in the trees lining the walkway to the large pool surrounded by orchards and olive trees.
If you come here expecting 24hr internet and a hundred channels of crap on the telly, then you're going to be one of those who rate this place with one star. Again, I don't come to Domaine des Clos to be constantly plugged into the outside world. I come here to escape it, if even for just a few days. Regarding the complaint about how far Domaine des Clos is from restaurants, well, again the blokes who write this are totally missing the point of why one would choose to spend their holiday at this farm. You're supposed to shop for wonderful cheeses, breads, fruits and vegetables and of course, wine. Then you enjoy any one of the many hidden coves with candlelight and you are now truly experiencing France. Just don't forget your industrial-strength mosquito repellant.
Regarding breakfast, the European/Australian habit of having a huge and greasy breakfast is overrated and besides, very unhealthy. And really folks, what do you want for the fair price charged by the owners? I spend six months traveling per year and challenge anyone to find a place offering this much relaxation and charm and beauty for the price.

As private tours guides for small groups of family and friends throughout Europe, my husband and I find that Domaine des Clos is one of our guests' favorite destinations when traveling in Provence/Languedoc Roussillon.

They love the authenticity of staying on an actual "working mas" that is high on charm and hospitality. It's a welcome respite after a day of sightseeing to return to the comforts of Domaine des Clos. There are many options for relaxation on the grounds -- within one of the little nooks, under the huge plane tree in the courtyard, at the swimming pool, or strolling through the lovely grounds.

Our guests love that they're able to keep food in the community refrigerators and that there are kitchens available so there's no need to go out for dinner. A highlight is to go "foraging" at local markets for the evening's meal at Domaine des Clos

Breakfast time is very friendly as you're able to sit and chat with other guests from all over and compare notes as to how they've spent their days. Madame Ausset's preserves are my favorite ever! You'll love the varieties and creative combinations that she's concocted.

Over the past several years, the rooms have been updated with beautiful and creative touches that make them even more cozy and comfortable.

For a true french countryside experience -- but in the vicinity of many major sites -- Domaine des Clos is perfect.
