A single night only at this fine hotel. Excellent dinner and wines in a delightful room. Table service was somewhat indifferent, but this was a busy evening.

Modern bathroom but uncomfortable beds in a fairly small room for the price.

Lovely countryside surrounding.

Beware the winding staircase for the infirmed !!!

Room Tip: Don't chose an above ground floor room as the upper floors are difficult to access via a winding...

only 2 areas for improvement . the tv choice is incredibly limited and the wireless would need to be beefed up
otherwise a place to be recommended by all means , with lots of focus on customers, greast mgmt attention, lovely position and great service . final touch the car windows were washed in the morning prior to departure

A great hotel with impeccable service, especially for France. We stayed in the tower with two floors, and the bottom floor was beautiful, with a modern bathroom and an amazing "princess" style bed, as well as a large closet and sitting area. The top floor was like a tower, but I didn't like the beds very much. The hotel grounds are very nice, with beautiful gardens, and a small lake with a bridge. The restaurant is very nice and I suggest dining there, since there is nowhere else in Igé. The breakfast was also delicious, and I suggest sitting outside if the weather is nice enough. There is a church nearby which I suggest visiting, and lots of wineries that offer wine tasting.

Room Tip: I suggest the tower, the top room, the one with two floors.

We stayed at the chateau for one night after a friend recommended it to us. It's a beautiful, peaceful place. Since we are a family with two kids, we stayed at the tour, where we had a two story room. The kids upstairs and we had a "princess" bed. The room was really nice, transferring us mentally to the Middle Ages. Everyone in the hotel was extremely polite, getting out of their way to make us feel at home.

The chateau gardens are perfect for relaxation, and the atmosphere of the place makes you want to just sit down and relax. There are many wine places around, for wine tasting and purchase.

I only have two areas of improvement to mention: during our dinner at the hotel we had to sit inside because there was a thunderstorm outside. But it was extremely warm inside and we could use a fan. Second, in the room there was no small fridge or mini bar so the water that was left for us was always warm.

Make sure you have dinner at the chateau, it's worth it.

We stopped overnight at the Chateau d'Ige, to break up the journey back to the UK from Tuscany. We were very pleasantly surprised on our arrival. The building has been beautifully, and very sympathetically restored. The rooms are all different, very clean, comfortable, large bathroom - and quiet! It was an exceptionally warm night so we asked the Maitre'd if we could eat outside (it was too hot inside the restaurant) and they quickly set up a table for us, even though it was already quite busy in the garden area. Whilst waiting for our main course, the owner came over to chat to us, to make sure we were all ok and happy with the service etc. a very nice gesture. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. As it was raining the next morning, we took breakfast in the orangery - which was also very pleasant. Bright, airy and spacious room. Plenty of choice, lovely fresh breads etc Wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Chateau for four nights this spring. I did not add a review because I had nothing but more superlatives to add. But after reading a review which mentioned an upgrade I did want to write that we were on a regular package and found everything top notch--the amenities, the room, the service and especially the set menu, with many delicious choices - including a Grand Marnier souffle for dessert! Also, as others have written, the owner and her staff make sure everyone feels very special. She said, upon our departure, that this was our home in France. Amen!!!!!

My husband and I spent a lovely night at this Chateau, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. When we arrived we asked if it was possible to upgrade the package we had chosen, and the receptionist graciously asked the porter to show us our choice of 3 rooms. We chose the tower suite in the garden for a 50 euro additional fee and did not regret that choice at all. The room is just gorgeous, and very comfortable. Now, the bed is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs, so if you have mobility issues this is not the room for you. But otherwise, it was just amazing. As part of our package we enjoyed a lovely aperitif of truffle champagne, which was delightful, and then went into the medieval dining room to enjoy what was absolutely, hands down one of the best meals of my life. I live in France, so this is saying a lot! The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was both relaxed and refined at the same time. Three of the five tables had dogs, which I just loved! The wine was also perfection, and the dessert... WOW! For me though, the best part was breakfast. They asked us the night before if we would rather enjoy it in our room or the dining room, and of course I chose our room! We chose the time for delivery, and it was promptly delivered at that exact time. It was a complete French breakfast with fresh breads and pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh coffee, jams, etc. But the best part was the London Times included. When you live in France, an English language newspaper is a real treat! And I just thought that attention to detail in customer service was impeccable. The weather was terrible while we were there, which was the only bad part as I was so impressed by the gardens and could imagine how lovely it would be to enjoy drinks in it. Next time we go back hopefully it will be better, as it is truly a shame not to relax in those stunning gardens. You will not regret staying at this Chateau during your trip to the Burgundy area- it is a real gem. We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Ask to view all the available rooms to choose your preferred type of room- they are all different!
