“Great atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

Food and drinks are not outstanding at Kendwa Rocks. It is good, especially the pizza, but what makes this place so good is the large white beach with great swimming possibilities. This together with a good mix of people of all ages makes it feel like a small beach party with a relaxed attitude.
We went two nights in a row and had a great time
Best – Ambience
Good – Mango Mojito, Pizza
Not so good – Nothing

“Nice selection random service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

Ive been to Kendwa Rocks 3 times now - stayed as a guest over the last few years. The menu options are great and they had just employed a sushi chef when i was there last. Yes its safe to eat the sashimi. There are some permanents wait staff that really care about their clients and everytime i see them they are efficient and look after you.. others well... lets hope you are not hungry! Make sure you order before you are hungry as it generally takes a while. The pizzas are nice and so are the Swahili dishes. Cocktails from the outside bar are a rip and often not even a full glass - go a couple of doors down the beach to sunset bungalows for the best cocktails. Breakfast varies - sometimes your eggs never turn up and you have to battle with the bees who love your tea!

“Please, train the waiters!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

I stayed in Kendwarocks twice. The restaurant is ok. Not excellent, neither bad. Food is enought good and atmosphere is nice. The real problem is the service. There is a dozen of guys totally unprepared about the food, the drinks, about everything. Many of these "supposed to be" waiters speak a basic english and is really difficult to get understood. Resuming. If you are heading a average standard solution, kendwa restaurant is ok. If you are looking for fresh fish grilled or a special atmosphere take a walk on the beach and find a better solution.

“Service? What service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

We stayed on the beach for two nights, and since there were only three restaurants open, we had little choice in where to go. We went to the Kendwa Beach Restaurant and it was horrible. The food was good WHEN YOU GOT IT. Lunch service was excruciatingly slow. We had a THREE AND A HALF HOUR LUNCH... AND NOT BY CHOICE. They have many servers on staff, but most of the time they stand around and ignore you. Once the food and drinks FINALLY CAME there was no apology for the wait. There was a mix up with another tables order, and the "manager" came over to me, and asked me what kind of soup I ordered, and then he went and yelled at the server- infront of customers- for mixing up the other tables soup with mine. (my soup was correct) It was very unprofessional how he involved me in the situation. I was just trying to eat my lunch! If any form of upper management is reading this, there needs to be some intense training for the front of house staff, they are awful. How can you expect for people to pay your 10% auto gratuity when there is literally no service!!!!
