We travelled all over Senegal with our son who was a Peace Corps Volunteer. Travelling in Senegal is ardous at best and this was our last stop. It felt like we'd arrived in a little slice of Heaven. The rooms were very clean and even had HOT WATER! The food was excellent and there was a good wine list. We were lucky in that our son knew the ropes and we were able to get cheap taxis and didn't overpay for boat trips etc. A wonderful end to our trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Mangroves.

Difficult to get there but once you are there it's really worth it. One of the most relaxed holidays I ever had. Rooms are comfortable and clean, swimming pool is ideal also for kids. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. Food is nice and from the restaurant you have a spectacular view. Offered excursions are great. The environment is just beautiful.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights with our daughter (PCV). Hotel offers a discount to Peace corp volunteers and family. Rooms large, clean and nicely decorated. Pool clean, grounds and restaurant area beautiful. Food a little pricey, but excellent. We did not do any excusions, but took advantage of free kayaks. Owner Karolien friendly and personable.

Room Tip: Room by water nice view

I came here for 3 days with my son, a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal, as part of my 2-week visit with him in October, 2014. He speaks fluent Wolof, so perhaps I did not have a typical stay here, but we found everything quite wonderful. We were the only guests at the hotel, partly because the high season was supposedly over, and partly because it was the height of the Ebola hysteria. We had the place to ourselves, but everything seemed in full swing--the pool was sparkling clean, the meals delicious and the service excellent. The side trips, and we took several, are pricey, but hey, these people are dirt poor, and I never felt bad spreading a small bit of overcharged Western money around. Because my son speaks the native language, we did walk into town several times for move native (and cheaper) meals, and, yes, the selection at the hotel is small and you do have to tell them in advance, but it's a tiny village and they do require time to get your meal's ingredients. We were there during bird migration, and what we saw on that trip was fantastic. The wifi was pretty good most of the time. We had a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Les Palétuviers in September 2014. We stayed for a week and used the conference room for our work sessions. The staff were really friendly, the food was great, the hotel itself was lovely and the location was fantastic!!!
