Great day out with family. The reserve is one hour away and very easy to access (no pot hole roads!). The reserve is open every day and offers 2 hour safaris on a 4x4. In our safari, we saw lots of animals including giraffes, zebras, antelope, rhino, buffalo, crocodiles and different birds. I was impressed by how well preserved the whole area was and how respectfully we accessed the area- the animals were really free to live in this area. Our guide was very friendly and provided us with a lot of information on the animals and the reserve.

The price was reasonable for the safari- for each adult it was 12,000 Cfa, the 4x4 was 40,000 Cfa and then the guide was 6,000 Cfa.

In the reserve there is also a restaurant, where the monkey hang out and there are wash room facilities.

Overall, highly recommend.

Thank Vishna

Every time I come here I can't decide which part of Bandia is more fun; the actual reserve, or the restaurant. The guides are knowledgable, funny, and very helpful. The reserve setup and tour is great because you tour around in a car to observe the animals. This means ZERO CAGES, except for the carnivores and nurseries. I have always said that people should be the ones in cages in a zoo and not the other way around. They have over 15 Giraffes, two rhinos, many, many zebras, and countless antelope, buffalo, and many colorful birds.

I love the restaurant because not only can you taste some of the culled wildlife (needed hunting for the reserve to survive) but you can see the crocodiles, birds, and monkeys all on display.

Its a recommended trade secret that you bring your own spray bottle (they have some, but they usually don't work) to the restaurant to keep away monkeys. It seems mean, but its better than throwing rocks, which you have to do when your restaurant spray bottle fails (which it will). Beware those monkeys man. They stole my pizza! :P

Do not come to Senegal without coming here, and Accrobaobab.

It’s definitely the best and interesting wildlife reserve in the area and only 30 minutes away from Saly. There are lots of animal encounter opportunities with giraffes, zebras, rhinos, monkeys, hyenas (in a different gated place), ostrich and buffalos. We took in our own car and hired one of the guides to ride with us. The guide is in touch by phone with other guides to find the animals within the park. There are also chances to get out of the car to take pictures.

There is also a restaurant and souvenir shop overlooking a waterhole where crocodiles live. There are certain feeding times. The restaurant makes a good lunch place, not cheap but good. While eating there, guides are keeping the monkeys away from stealing your food – better don’t feed the monkeys yourself.

Certainly not the best wildlife reserve I have been to but interesting enough. Lots of animal opportunities with giraffes, zebras, rhinos, monkeys, hyenas, ostrich and buffalo. We took in our own car and hired one of the guides to ride with us. Opportunities to get out of the car and take photo's as well. There is also a restaurant and bar overlook a waterhole where buffaloes and crocodiles are present. Food was good but not so cheap.

A lot of wildlife. The griot tomb and its story is also interesting. I was worth driving from Dakar to the reserve.
