“Great food, elegant, go later in the evening”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

We went here for a business dinner, as it is one of the few more elegant places on the island, with a great selection of food. Everyone enjoyed the food, which was fresh and lovely. Altogether a very nice visit, The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because it was really very pricy, and the atmosphere was a bit sterile for my taste (but this might have been because we went there quite early in the evening when very few people were there). Altogether would recommend it and will be coming back.

“Little Belgium in Mindelo”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

As i heard that the chef is from near my birthplace, i had no option than to go and have dinner with the inlaws there. Very good quality, higher than the other restaurants. Not that this is needed, as most of the restaurants i did in Mindelo are well worth it!

“The best Restaurant in town”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

The location is wonderful, directly at the marina. We have been here twice. The first time we would give it 5 stars, but when we came again, the food was only average.

“Great Lobster.”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

Great Lobster.... expensive for Mindelo but it is rather an exclusive place. Good for a blowout but I wouldn't like to eat there every day. Oh, and very very romantic.

“Modern, minimalist but uninspiring”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

On the waterfront of Mindelo there is a large modern glass and concrete development of which the Restaurant Pont d'Agua is a part. The interiors are nice - a long black bar, an open kitchen tables with white linens, and glass walls overlooking the harbour and the bay. The menu is inventive, focusing unsurprisingly on seafood, there is a small winelist but disappointingly no wines by the glass, and no carafes so, since I was dining alone I had a beer. The service was attentive, but the atmosphere slightly ruined by a loop tape of 80s international hits - for a country with a rich musical heritage (Cesária Évora, Mária Alice, Lura, Tcheka) it feels strange to be listening to Phil Collins. Given the elegant, upscale look and feel of the place, the food was distinctly average. The carpaccio of finsh was nicely presented, but so overwhelmed with salad and olive oil, it was almost impossible to taste the fish (wahoo - a local delicacy) the arroz con mariscos (seafood risotto) was bland and a very few prawns were overcooked. It's a pity as the location overlooking the water and the service were good - but in the end a restaurant can only be judged on its food
