“Underrated!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

If the Ocean cafe is a bit too much this place is a perfect place to both eat and chill out.whilst the food is ok (certainly not poor but not the best) we really enjoyed eating and drinking there, good friendly staff and nice location on the square.

“Forgettable”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

We saw the lobster deal on the menu and decided to try out this restaurant based on that. Once we were seated they told us they didn't have any lobster. I made the mistake of ordering chicken in a peanut sauce which they claimed was an African speciality. It was very bland with no seasoning. The fish of the day was delicious but fairly hazardous to eat due to the amount of bones.

We ordered the banana "Paula style" for dessert without enquiring what it was before hand. Living on the edge. It was really nice!

I was impressed by the number of languages the wait staff spoke to the tourists that dined here.

The restaurant was encased in plastic sheeting which kept billowing out and hitting us. It also wasn't see through so no people watching.

Wouldn't go again.

“A perfect place for a beer and free WiFi”

We enjoyed drinking our glass of beer here very much. Staff is friendly and swift, the beer is cold and not expensive.

“Good traditional Cabo-Ferdian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

We went to Cafe Cultural to try traditional Cabo-Verdian dish cachupa. It's a very lovely place with good service and delicious local food. During the weekend you can also enjoy a local kids band playing drums and performing capoeira.

“somewhat overrated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

The Cafe Cultural is obviously THE place to be in town. Its prominent location on the main square makes it a tourist mecca. Indeed, almost all clients are tourists willing to play the inflated prices for a decent, but no excellent menu. For more authentic food prepared and served with love try the Sapo around the courner
