“Skip lunch”
Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

Ate here a couple of years ago for dinner- was great... Today for lunch I wish I could say the same. Had the buffet- the one warm dish they had was cold by accident as no one lit the sterno-
Roast beef dry and unremarkable- the soup bland. My sons grilled chicken sandwich was do over cooked it was like cardboard inedable.
Wings were dry dry dry- over cooked.
The cook back there over cooks and under seasoned all we had... Nothing great on the menu and we got to sit next to a table with 3 small kids.. With parents who think crying and screaming in a restaurant is A - OK!!!

“Below Expectations”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

We were excited to visit Trapper's Tavern, after reading about the history of it and its great reviews. Boy, what a disappointment. While the decor is pretty neat, the Adirondack-feel of the place is destroyed by the huge TV that dominates the end of the dining room. While we there, there were only three other tables seated. Yet the service was painfully slow. There were umpteen servers, busers, and bar tenders, but they were all just standing around in the door to the kitchen talking. Our experience at Trapper's could've been great but was ruined by multiple annoyances: our absentee server, the fact our dinner was supposed to come with home-made bread but she forgot due to her incessant jabbering with the other servers, the fact she charged us nine bucks for kid drinks that came with their meals, then acted like they were doing us a favor by taking it off the bill. The food was decent, but the portions were ridiculously small. Neither my wife nor I are huge eaters, but you're talking about a filet of salmon that was about 2"x4" and chicken that was paper thin. This wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't also overpriced. Then, after two hours we had to flag down and beg our waitress for a bill.
So, unless you like glacial service and overpriced, puny food try one of the other places in North Creek.

“The whole package”

Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. My wife and I look forward to many return visits. The Copperfield Inn is the anchor that will hopefully assure the success of the North Creek Renaissance.

“Better than average bar food and attentive staff”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Warm, comfy bar, better than average bar food, and a very attentive staff make for an enjoyable experience. They are flexible with the TV stations and always have the most important sporting event on. The only bad thing I ever ordered was the profiteroles which I wouldn't order again, but other than that it is a fun, affordable place for lunch or dinner.

“North Country delight!”
Reviewed July 5, 2012 via mobile

The Tavern has a lunch buffet which was loaded with choices. Nice menu, something for everyone. Great Adirondack decor, tastefully done. Love the ambiance and casual, sophisticated setting. A little history with Teddy Roosevelt's moose head on loan decorating the area over the fireplace.
Fun if ypu're a history biff.
