Room seemed clean but bathroom was nasty..........saw dark hairs all over bathtub and walls of shower like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Housekeeping didn't clean our room while we were there since "we saw do not disturb sign on your door" well yeah, at 7 a.m. I like to sleep and thought you'd clean it later on in the day but they did at least leave clean towels. Doubt they would have cleaned bathroom well anyways since I don't know how you miss all of that nasty hair in the tub! Area was nice and quiet minus occasional noise from helicopter ride place next door and the bed was comfortable. Half of the staff was nice but one guy in particular who worked there was extremely hateful and unwelcoming and said mean comments like "I can't believe you didn't bring a car" when he found out we took the bus from the airport in Buffalo and there were plenty of restaurants in walking distance and "I don't know where you'll have breakfast" when they have free breakfast there. Breakfast was good except they do not have apple juice anywhere and elevator was very tiny (had to wait a few times to get it since full) and always super hot.

*Not worth the money at all!
*We had 2 rooms w/2 beds, housekeeping not only did NOT clean the rooms, but only made one bed in one of the rooms and left towels in a trash bag outside the door of the other room.
*They never mentioned they were next to a building that gives helicopter rides.
*the free breakfast was not good and not worth waking up early for
*had 1 tiny elevator (definitely had to wait a few times to use it)
*Just very unhappy w/quality of service from staff & the room -from time of booking to time we left that place. Glad we only stayed for 2 days.

The staff were all helpful, friendly and informative. The rooms were clean and the location was good. Our only complaints were that the hotel (as for most of the entire city of Niagara Falls New York) was old and needed updated. There was only one elevator which also appeared to need upgraded and there was some molding in the shower.

My entire family went to Niagara falls for the first time in august and we chose this hotel. It is not the closest to the falls the Comfort Inn is. This hotel is about 3 blocks from the falls so the walk is not bad at all.

The rooms were ok, just your basic 2 double beds and a bathroom. The hotel is pretty old but every thing was clean. The breakfast room was small, like everyone else said. I brought my tray down from the room and we ate in our room. The pool was very strange,it is inside and it was so cloudy that it looks like there is blue dye in it. There is also a sauna by the pool that was ok too. Way to hot for me.

Its was an ok place to stay but it could use some updating. The Canadian side was much nicer then the US. We went to the Skylon tower and we ate in the revolving dining room. It was quite pricey but the view is worth it.

You spend most of the time at the falls, so its an ok place to sleep and grab a quick breakfast.

Most of the reviewers have already summed up the problems at this hotel. Here are few.

1. Smells funny. (May be because I was on a smoking floor)
2. People were smoking in the corridors. It looked kind of shady.
3. Poor lighting, very old fixtures. Creaky elevator.
4. Found a pair of socks in one drawer and half used Match Box near the bed. Room was spacious but not very clean.

I thought Howard Johnson will be better than motels buit it is among worst of them.

Like most of the motels on the American side of the Falls, this one is at least 25 years old and shows it. Rooms and decor are tired. Our room had no plug in the bath, chipped tiles, and smelled funny. Really, the only answer would be to refurbish and better still might be to demolish and build something attractive. Same goes for all the others in this area of town. Stay further out, say in one of the villages 15 miles out, if you are just visiting the Falls.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson at Niagara Falls for two nights in September 2008. Check-in was quick and easy. We stayed in Room 411. Our room was very large with comfortable bed but the décor was a bit tired. The bathroom was clean but they did not provide a spare toilet roll, which seemed rather mean. The room had the usual facilities such as: air conditioning, TV, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and room safe. The hotel had laundry facilities, which guests could use. Breakfast was included but offered a poor selection of food with no healthy options. They had only plastic cutlery and plastic plates and bowels. The dining area was tiny and we had to take our food back to our room, as there was nowhere to sit. They had a pool and sauna but we did not try them. It is not a smart hotel but was cheap and comfortable and a very good location for sightseeing and very close to the state park and the falls – walkable. Right next to the hotel there was a heli-pad where you could take a helicopter ride over the falls. Also, you could book sightseeing tours from the hotel front desk. The hotel was located in a quiet area. Car parking was free. Check-out was quick and easy.
