Hotel was very, very nasty. Bathtub was black! Something very gross on chair. The room looked as if it hardly very had been cleaned. I can't wait to get out of here!!!!!!!

It's a howars johnson , not a fancy chain. Per night rate is reasonable. Free parking. It's easy to locate right on a busy street. The followings made negative impression during our stay:
- very loud a/c unit, had to turn iu
T down at night
- wall is very thin, can hear everything happened next door, didn't sleep the whole night.
- stop serving breakfast at 9:30am, wife and kids were just couple of minutes late, the kitchen staff took away the service trays and locked down the fridge in front of our eyes.
- the hotel is located on the safe blvd, but to reach the hotel, we had to drive through an area looked " run down", which was not fun at nigh

Yes, the room was cheap and it was located near the Falls. Even taking that into consideration, I would not stay here again. Parking was inadequate and the hotel was dated and in disrepair. Their location was just north of the Peace Bridge and traffic made it very hard to get in and out. Can't blame the hotel for the traffic congestion, but the second night there, we ended up waiting in a line of traffic for 30 minutes just to turn into the hotel. We also skipped the continental breakfast because there was only four small tables in the corner of the lobby. Given the size of the hotel, they could have doubled the space and it still would have been crowded. Next time, I will shell out a few more bucks for the Days Inn down the street.

Among the hotels that I have been to, Howard Johnson Niagara Falls is slightly under average. First of all, its old. So do not expect anything fancy from this hotel. Secondly, there's absolutely no views. The only view you have is a parking lot. Of course, most of the people who come to this hotel comes for the falls, not the hotel. For that reason, the price is above average. I can find hotels much more better than this anywhere else in the States, but not in Niagara Falls. If you come to Niagara Falls, there's not much of a choice.
One more thing that was disappointing was the complementary breakfast, which really had nothing but bread with butter and jam, and some juice. If I'd known before, I'd just by my own breakfast from outside.

In my personal opinion, it would be better to spend a little more money and stay on the Canadian side where there's far more range of hotels to choose from, and of course more activities to enjoy. American side of the fall somehow just seems plunging all together with the economy- properties are just getting old without renovations, same old attraction for decades.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the elevator is more quiet. The doors have no sound proofing at all. Better to stay...

Satyed in the hotel for 2 nights over the weekend. A true highlight of the hotel is the location. Everything is in walking distance (Niagara Falls State Park, Rainbow Bridge, Hard Rock Cafe, TGIFridays, Casino, etc.). Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room and hotel were dated but clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and relaxing. The elevator is small but fast. I would stay again. Remember to bring your own personal items (shampoo, soap, toothpaste). The hotel room does have a large tv, couch, lamps and goopd lighting, ironing board, iron, cafe, hangers, alarm clock, table with chairs, large refrigerator, dresser. The hotel has a couple soda machines, washing machines, ice machines and vending machines, indoor pool and helicopter rides (additonal cost).

It's sad to say, but Niagara falls is a dying city. Sure you have the falls, you have the river, and you have the Seneca Casino, but unfortunately you also have the urban decay all around. The sad part is that when you look across to the Canadian side, it is clear that things do look greener on the other side. Wow, Niagara Falls NY stand is stark contrast to the glittering shiny towers that dot the Canadian Falls area. The hotel in question is in a plain and fairly run down part of town (as most of the city is run down). It is close to the falls and it is easy to walk around. The amenities of the hotel are pretty minimal. The pool is small and not too exciting. The rooms are clean but old. You won't be grossed out (I hope) but you certainly won't be impressed either. Anyhow, I expected more from this city and this hotel but was underwhelmed.

Room Tip: No good rooms here I think

We recently stayed two nights at this hotel. We found it to be clean, room was spacious. We stayed in a smoking room and you could not smell stale smoke in the hallway or room. When the housekeeping staff cleaned the floor you could smell a clean scent. Carpets were clean and in good condition. Plenty of towels. The pool was amazing. The hotel is very convienent to the falls and other locations. The only thing we did not like was the continental breakfast which was lacking in food and at 0730 was out of coffee. It is obvious the hotel has made positive upgrades from previous years comments that I had reviewed. On tuesday they had a truck load of new mattresses delivered. Staff were friendly. I would recommened this hotel as condition of hotel was good, location great, price competitive and friendly staff. I will return next year.
