Location of the hotel is great. Walkable distance from Niagara Falls. Check in was fast. No hassles in finding car parking. Corridors need a new coat of paint. Room is of adequate size. Linen in ok condition. Towels need replacement. Shower curtain rod if flimsy and appeared as though it may snap and fall. Shower system is peculiar and did not function properly. Did not think the price charged is justified for this old hotel.

I want to thank you for being a guest at our property and taking the time to leave honest feedback on our hotel. I’m glad to hear that our location met you traveling needs. I apologize that you experienced any inconvenience while you were here. We continually work to maintain the building. We are a very seasonal location; our busy season is from May to October. Our room rates are competitively priced for the area we are located and the season we are in. We hope that you will return once again to our hotel so that we may show you how great we truly are.

Stayed at this hotel with wife, son and his wife, for two days in May 2013. (20-23). Great location, just across the bridge going to goat island, where most of the best viewing of the falls is located on the American side is located. In fact it is walking distance. One draw back there is no view of the falls or river from the hotel rooms. A very good complimentary breakfast must be relished. The staff overall were very helpful except for the Guy at the travel desk who was selling a con job of a sight seeing package at 100 USD. This same sight seeing can be done with a Multi-ticket for just USD 33. Transport is not required as all these sightseeing locations are within 1-2 miles. We drove down so appreciated the free parking provided and available in plenty. Two days is enough to explore the American side and visit the SENECA CASINO too. I don't think I could have stayed an extra day, unless you plan to visit the Canadian side. The wifi also is free, but not very fast.

We had a false fire alarm during our stay, and had to evacuate at 7 in the morning to learn after 45 minutes that there was an electrical issue and that it would take over two hours to rectify, so no electricity and lift.

Overall the hotel is cosy, and good enough at the cost for a quite holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a view towards the Seneca Casino, only seven floors.

I have gotten used to the Holiday Inn express where they seem to run a totally differant type of hotel clearly more customer friendly and better accomadations. Bad for me was that the Holiday Inn express although further from the Falls was booked solid and i was lucky to get this on such short notice. The hotel staff on arrival was actually very friendly and accomadating when we asked to be moved to the Canadian view side we were and there was a very pleasant young gentleman at the desk who took care of us and i would say all the staff that we encountered were the same way. The hotel itself is very dated you can see that they did the updates but the workmanship was rather shappy with what looks likes press and seal wood flooring in the room. The room was okay the drawers did have some crumbs in one of them so choose not to use any but live out of the suitcase the shower and bath area also dated but a hot shower so that was good. The door did not seem overly secure and there was a large space on the bottom but this was easily taken care of by placing a towel there at night to block out the light. Bed was comfortable and as I said earlier we were moved to the Canadian side view which was rather nice with the friday night fireworks right out our window. Big downside is that unlike the Holiday innn express breakfast is not included and the restuarant is just mediocore and expensive (as was the hotel for what you got) no coffee in the lobby but there is a breakfast bar where you can also buy coffee etc. The location however is a great one easy walk to the falls and goat island as well as the casino if you are interested in that. The american side of the falls is all rather run down and the city clearly could and should do a lot of work to improve the area and compete with the canadians but they never do. Location great accomadations just okay i would rather stay away from the falls or on the canadian side with better overall accomadations but not a bad place if you have to stay - just would not be my 1st choice more the middle. Price was rather high for the quality although consistant with what i saw for the same hotel in the area. One other big downfall was the elevators usually only 1 was running the other always seemed to be broken down and very slow not sure the best place for the elderly or a handicapped person due to this issue.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor facing the canadian side ( 5, 6 or 7)

This is the Holiday Inn on Buffalo Ave in Niagara Falls NY, not to be confused with other Holiday Inns in the surrounding location. Some reviews are not so good for this hotel, and I wonder if it's because the reviewer selected the incorrect Holiday Inn in the same area from the drop down list. Anyway, this hotel was such a great hotel for the value and for the location! We would stay here again. We had a bad experience with another chain hotel in the area and we were pleased when we selected this one. The hotel lobby is updated and clean and rich looking. They have a concierge desk (a person is there), but they do not seem to be real educated on the area beyond giving you brochures from the little brochure display...not other value is added. Anyway, check-in was smooth. No free continential breakfast. They have an in-house restaurant which is expensive. There is also a little 'cafe' near the entrance and we had breakfast there one morning - its a bit pricey, but there isn't much around in the area. They have room service which is less expensive and we took advantage of that one night and the food was excellent and the service was awesome!
Our room was clean and I was amazed that the floors were not covered in carpet, but rather wood (lamenate flooring, that looked like real wood)...it was a welcomed change. The bathroom and bedspreads were spotless. The front desk service was awesome giving us extra soap and towels and blankets. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, if we came back to the American-side of the Falls.

First hotel which I encountered rude front office staff. Despite me being a foreigner visiting the US and polite as we are in speaking good English, the staff seem not wanting to look into our eyes when we are communicating. I was tempted to ask if this is the kind of treatment I should be getting? Is this being racist?

Apart from the sensitive issue above, the followings should be highlighted as well:

(a) Adjoining room making too much of noise that we could not sleep by midnight. Even after official complaint to front desk, did not get attention until much later.

(b) Specified the room facing but upon checking in, disappointed to be given a WALL view despite being a Club member requesting for a better room. When we checked in we confirmed that we are getting a good view room but it is truly a disappointment.

(c) Front office staff wasn't helpful when asked on the surrounding of the hotel.

(d) Rooms look tired and nothing to shout about.

(e) Compliment - the complimentary breakfast is fantastic and the staff at the restaurant is the only one who make you feel good.

Truly there is no point being a member as I don't feel being valued by the hotel at all. Afterall if the staff here are not taught on respecting their guest regardless of nationaility, I wish there is a channel for me and people of my country boycotting this property

Room Tip: Be sure to check if your room windows are facing the wall if you do not want to be miserable throughout your staff. We got a room at level 2 and for the few nights stay, we literally had little sunlight and faced the wall at all times. Worst when we are their club member and rewarded in such a distasteful manner.
