“Satisfactory but Not Unique”
Reviewed August 22, 2009

Like so many other Tripadvisors, we selected this particular hotel based on its location. The entrance to the Niagara Falls State Park (or, Reservation, as it was originally known) is truly just steps from the hotel back door. You can park your car for free and never worry about moving it. It is also true that every room has at least a glimpse of either the brink of the American Falls or the Niagara River Rapids leading to the Falls. We were quite satisfied with our room and found the breakfast a bit better than the usual basic continental. Indeed, the only complaint that we overheard from other guests was that there was no pool, understandable in the 90 degree heatwave underway.

All this having been said, it should be noted that Niagara Falls, NY--at least the tourist area--is very compact and walkable and we could see just out our window probably three or four other boxy, cookie-cutter, free parking hotels that would have been only a few steps further from the River. I'd do a bit more comparison shopping if I were to return for another visit.

I'm 64 years old, live in Toronto, and have visited Niagara Falls many times but this was the first extended time I ever spent on the American side. My advice would be to try to visit both the American and Canadian side of the Falls area. The overall view from the Canadian side is awesome and not to be missed. But it was only on the American side, with some of its Olmsted-planned, more secluded pathways along the Rapids and right up between the brinks of the Falls, that one can feel some of the unspoiled beauty of the area.

This hotel is within walking distance of all the Niagara State Park Attractions. If you are not a walker, the park has a trolley. The hotel rooms were very basic but the beds were clean and comfortable, great showerhead and lrg. tub. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were a party of 8 including 2 children (10&11). We all had a great time. Beware of the welcome center next door to the hotel. They tried to sell me tickets to the park attractions for double the price. Purchase your tickets at the vistor center in the park. For $33/adult & $26/child, we had access to 5 attractions, which included to trolley. This is a great place to vacation with your family.

We stayed one night before moving on to Toronto ,Canada.
The rooms are small and old looking. They could use a major renovation. On the plus side the free breakfast was very good and the location to the falls is very close. If you have to stay more than one night I would recommend some place else.

Great location, right across the street from the falls. I don't think you could get closer. Price was $180 which was a little high, but you are paying for the location. Parking is free. Rooms are older and in need of renovation. Bathroom was small and needs renovation as well. Hotel lobby and breakfast area are neat and clean. Desk staff was friendly. I would stay here again because of its proximity to the falls, but the price could be better. For $180, I might look for a higher class hotel.

As others have said, this Comfort Inn is the perfect location to access the Niagara State park and its attractions. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We appreciated the quiet area around the hotel. If you want the hustle and bustle of commercialism, then you might want to stay on the Ontario side of the falls.

Great place to stay mainly because of the location. You get out of the back door of the hotel and you are in Niagara Falls State Park. Very close to Prospect Pointe, Maid of the Mist and goat Island. I had a two double beds room. Room was clean and comfortable. There was enough parking even though it was peak season. Checkin and checkout was super quick. Free breakfast had no frills, nothing freshly made at the hotel basically cereal, bread, muffins, bagel the usual. Although it is slightly priced more than Days Inn and Howard Johnson it was worth every penny. Staff was very helpful in directions and providing extra towels. Staff at the breakfast center was also very helpful.

The thing I liked the most was the location (can't beat it) and the thing I liked the least was the pillows they had. They are very small and not very comfortable. Carry your own pillow and you will have a great stay!

After looking into many hotels in this area, I decided to try this one based on the reviews. The location couldn't be better, on the US side at least. Niagara Falls park right across the street, and we were very close to the American Falls, trolley stops, and Maid of the Mist attraction. I had a 2 yr old w/ me and we were able to walk to see the falls lit up at night and watch the 5-10 minute firework show (at 10pm several nights during the week). Other than location - the room was ok - it was clean, customer service was good, great breakfast. I expected the room to be "worn" based on the location of being in Niagara Falls and all the tourists constantly visiting the area. If you are not looking for a plush room - I would recommend this hotel.
